Chandler demanded to be traded

Post#1 » by therebirth » Sat Jan 1, 2011 8:59 pm

Sources said Felton was seeking a deal from Charlotte that averaged $10 million annually. He turned down a five-year, $42 million offer followed by a five-year, $35 million offer, then ended up signing a two-year, $14 million deal with the New York Knicks. Sources also said Charlotte traded Chandler to the Dallas Mavericks because he had requested a trade and wasn’t happy playing for former coach Larry Brown.

While Chandler is now flourishing in Dallas, he barely played in the playoffs with Charlotte under Brown last season.

This is why LB didn't cry about chandler once. He was the reason he left.

While I liked Chandler, his injuries were so annoying. The guy can ball just fine though.

Both players made the best choice to advance their careers, can't argue with that.

I've always liked Felt's but I'm glad we didn't resign him for that amount.
Even if he does become an allstar now I would always support that decision not to overpay.

I agree, we also would have been saddled with a lot of committed money over the long term to a mostly veteran team that got swept in the first round. Although I like Raymond, it was kind of hard to give him a long term contract after getting severely outplayed by Nelson. He's a good fit right now for the Knicks, glad he's doing well and is happy.

Plus he was pretty consistently average here in Charlotte. Too bad we didn't hire Silas instead of Brown to begin with, then we probably could had seen some of the current Felton here in Charlotte. However Felton is also extremely beneficial to the league MVP right now, Amare. Great for Felton, but I don't see any scenario that he ever would put up those numbers in Charlotte or sniff an all star birth, so it was a good decision.

I think Felton would've done fine under LB or Silas, maybe score more and get more assists under Silas slightly. But everyone is right, having Amare in the middle and guys who can shoot on the outside is a huge part to why Felton's numbers are up. I still would've given him at least the same deal he got from NY.

The good news is if they have a deep run in the playoffs with him playing like this it will make it more likely they keep him long term and we'll have a chance to sign CP3.

I really had something sarcastic to say but I forgot about it once I saw Sachmo's avatar.
