Nazr's been injured, he's OUT right now. That leaves Kwame, who quite honestly kinda sucks. I like him, but he's not a starter.

The fact that he is even less tradable now than he was a week ago (didn't think that was possible - but then again I didn't think he was blow his achilles out either!!) has a huge impact - especially with Tricky Ricky suggesting we were show casing him.

I don't think he'd play on many other rosters anyway. He's a contract, a bad one and to take him it would require us packaging it with someone like Wallace. Wallace + Diop to Dallas for Butler. It would actually be a good deal for us especially if they included a pick or prospect.

Plus with Butler being done for the year, Wallace would be a fantastic replacement for a team competing to win it all.

How bout both... The only prospect they have is Roddy, who I've never once seen play NBA basketball. We don't want JET, that's for sure. There's talk of sending JAx and Wallace both out for Deng, Taj, our own pick, their pick, and Ronnie Brewer though. Just idle chatter I guess.

There is virtually no hope to trade Diop now, unless he can perfect this:

Diop could take a year to recover

Charlotte Bobcats center Gana Diop had successful surgery Wednesday on his ruptured right Achilles tendon. Just to put the severity of that injury in perspective, projected recovery time is nine to 12 months.

Diop's foot will be immobilized for about two weeks.

I don't know why this is even relevant. This has been his diagnosis every year of his career.

A decent year or two rebounding and blocking shots. It's all he ever has done besides defend the post.

Cuban from Dallas signed him to that deal because he was their insurance to the aging Dampier. He made an impression in 05-06 on the defensive end(obviously), defending Shaq in the Finals. His hustle, rebounding and defense prompted Cuban/Nelson to sign him to a six year deal, which we ended up with because he was an "LB type player".

And he did an OK job guarding Tim Duncan in the playoffs.

Hey

Don't get me wrong fellas.

If you compare Diop to Kwame and if they would be paid same amount, I would let Diop play. You just can't use him on offensive end, so you play 4 vs 5 on offense. Same goes obviously for Kwame as well, unless he gets offensive board.

But to be honest, Diop has better hands than Kwame's by a large margin. OH my god how Kwame handles the ball, it's like kid's game called hot potato :p

the difference between kwame and diop on the offensive end isnt close. advantage kwame by a mile. kwame is a better scorer, better ft shooter, better at setting picks, better at setting as a big target inside. both players have awful hands and neither is a good finisher. but lets not be silly, kwame has averaged more points per game in a season than diop's career high. diop is the worst offensive player in the nba. i dont think anyone in the nba is even in the same zip code as him in terms of offensive awfulness. big advantage to kwame.

on the defensive end kwame uses his body better, is stronger and is a slightly better rebounder. diop is a better help defender and a better shot blocker. advantage even, maybe a tiny edge to diop.

overall advantage kwame... oh and he is 7 times less expensive.

And Kwame plays with a lot of effort and energy. I've been really impressed with his huslte and "go get after it" approach.

I've watched NBA basketball since the 1980s and as far as I can recall, I think Diop is the only player I have ever seen airball consecutive free throws.

In retrospect, stiffs of yesteryear like Yinka Dare and Jim Mcllvaine look like offensive dynamos compared to Diop.

Diop's offense is limited by the fact that he doesn't know we're not playing cricket. Don't tell him though, it would only depress him. He really likes cricket.
