Wallace /Jax Trade Values vus Future of Team

Post#1 » by BobsBuddy » Fri Jan 14, 2011 3:54 pm

 :o :-? At 6-2 right now our team looks very good under Silas, but like he says himself" There is allot of games left to play this season."
Whats the most important goal of an any NBA franchise? It's the same of any business that wants to survive these hard economic times. Make Money and continue to grow. For the Bobcats that means a delicate balance between winning today with half the arena attendance or even having an NBA team in Charlotte for the next 5 years. With a lockout pending for next year, doesn't it make sense from a business standpoint to shed some salaries now if the organization can pickup some expring contracts and future picks?
1. Can we package Diop with Wallace or Jax and get an expring contract,2011 1st round pick and /or a young prospect back that will lower our payroll next season and help us build a franchise in the future.
Maybe both Jax and GW need to be traded now?
2. I see our future core as being DJ, TT, DB,GH, BD, with future subs SL,Dmac, and maybe KB...
3. Carroll,,Nazr,Najera,Diop and Collins are all expedable now as cap fillers on trades involving Wallace and Jax.

I would hate to see the team make the playoffs this year at the expense of no team being in Charlotte down the road. Your Thoughts?

Whatup Charlotte
Celts fan here... do you think mj would accept a package revolving around Glen Davis/Nate Robinson and a #1 pick for either Jackson or Wallace? I know it doesn't seem like a lot but just saw the report about Cleveland offering their trade exception. Btw Wallace has always been a favorite of mine, why is he seemingly always on the trade block?

You consider Boris Diaw part of our future core? Well I guess that's alright.

If the team makes the playoffs that only strengthens our chances of keeping the team. Missing it again would mean we make the playoffs like 1 out of every 8 years, which looks bad.

i think he was always seemingly on the block because so many other teams inquired about him and rumors got started. according to our beat writers in charlotte, this past month is the first time the bobcats have initiated calling other teams about wallace.

Wallace is our best player. The best player on a bad team is always going to be on the block because contending teams can make him their third best player and win championships.

Jackson shouldn't be traded this year. In my opinion he's worth the money he's making this year, and next year he'll be worth nearly the amount.

  :o Dallas is dropping fast in the West and desperate for a player to replay Butler now with Dirk out.
trade checker 5813522 Jackson for Kidd plus Dallas 1st round pick
Why
1. Kidd has one year left on contract Jax has two--Save money and Kidd would be here mext year or could be traded to a contender in 2012 as an expiring. JAX can't..
2.Kidd combined with DJ and Livingston or Hendo would be awesome.
3.Kidds a leader/ winner and replaces a complainer..
4.Gives Bobcats/Silas an extra 2011 first round pick
5. Still make playoffs
OR we can do nothing?

1. Ok.
2. Debatable.
3. Leader maybe, winner not so much, he led a choking Nets team out of the playoffs not too long ago.
4. Sure.
5. Quite possible.

HOWEVA, why would Dallas trade one of the most important positions on their team for a role player? Who's going to play point? Terry? Barea? Roddy? All offensive minded, all not thrilling prospects for a starting PG in the playoffs. Plus, I'm pretty sure Cuban has a man-crush on Ason Kidd.

That....and mainly Jackson's trade value is not very high ( look at the crap the Bob's paid to get him).

G Wallace? Wallace is prime time. If the Bob's trade him for some second stringer, and some $$ savings...they become a loser. They already are a team floating around .500 (or slipping below) and there's a point where the fan's think....F*** this...I'd rather watch Duke,UNC,Wake Forest etc.
Nothing like an empty arena to get things going weird.
CENSORED... No comment.
