steph curry - the bi-annual wishful thinking story

Post#1 » by fatlever » Fri Sep 30, 2011 6:11 pm

we will see this story 10 more times over the next 5 years (or as long as curry is playing anywhere else).

http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_n ... curry.html

"Of course I'd like to play here - it's home and I know a lot of people. But that doesn't mean I'm trying to get out of Golden State,'' Curry said Thursday in a wide-ranging interview with the Observer.

"There's no reason I would not want to play in Charlotte. Maybe the pressure of being around family all the time would affect some people, but I wouldn't be opposed to any of that.''

I don't know about Curry. Even if there would be a chance to get him, I'm not sure if I would want to. His game just does not impress me. And if Kemba becomes a Tim Hardaway clone I rather build a team around him.

I'm ready for you guys to bash me

Anyone who can maintain a .600 TS% on 24% usage is crazy valuable. There is not a team in the NBA that would not play him for extended minutes (though of course some teams would make him an awesome sixth man).

...we are never going to get him.

curry would be a fantastic 3rd option on a championship team (or as paydro mentions a super 6th man).

however, i think it would be a mistake for a team to sign him to be the focal point of the team, the building block, the alpha scorer. he is a complimentary piece.

as a small market team, you usually dont sign complimentary players before you land a franchise player. it never works.

curry might be an exception because of all the fringe all-star/complimentary type players he is the only one who we know would sign here and would also provide a fan boost.

i do think curry will play here one day. to me its just a matter of when.

I'd sign Steph in a heartbeat and don't know any franchise who wouldn't.

I don't think he'll sign here after his rookie deal is done, as he'll get more money somewhere else, but I definitely see him coming to Charlotte in the twilight of his career to play that Dell Curry role

I'm #GSW for life and ready for the long haul. Just answering a question about the pressure of family in my hometown. Ok that's all. Thanks

Probably #nobodycarestho. But... If you have read a certain rumor today, plz don't confuse my love for my fam as a WISH to play in Charlotte

Curry is going to be one of the best PGs in the game for about the next 12 years.
