Re: Charlotte Bobcats 2011-12 Midseason Report
grades
henderson: B was our best player this year when healthy. he still has a big lead in hammers, even after missing the past 3 weeks.
augustin: B- has been solid when he was healthy, the injuries prevent his grade from being higher. proved to be the most valuable player when he was out.
walker: C+ scoring, rebounding and defense have been better than average, playmaking as been about average and his %s have been abysmal. great attitude.
williams: C in his limited action he has shows flashes of being a solid rotation player on a good team. defense is not good, but that was expected.
biyombo: C he has come on strong as a starter recently. defense gets high grades, despite still having some rookie brain freezes, the offense, passing and movement on offense still needs a lot of work
mullens: D+ a pleasant surprise early, slipping lately. defense is atrocious, rebounding is poor, but offense is solid for a young player. he gets an A in self promotion however.
diaw: D+ it was expected for diaw to have a career type year. he is the most talented player on a bad team. jackson is gone leaving the offense to run thru diaw and its a contract year. diaw responded by coming into shape grossly overweight and basically playing most nights like he could care less.
Brown: D+ this grade is higher than i would have expected. brown has played well this year in garbage time. if he can ever figure out out to put up similar stats vs starters he could be in the league for another 5 years. his 10-10 game this year was one of the highlights of the season.
najera: D+ he has been our most efficient offensive player, albeit in very limited minutes. main contributions come as a towel waiver, where is is an all-star.
white: D like mullens, he is all offense and no defense, but he is probably even worse on the defensive end and rebounds like he is scare of contact.
diop: D what else did you expect, especially after gaining so much weight while he was out. still passable on defense and horrific on offense.
Carroll: D- this grade is probably being kind, but hammer did put up some quality games when he got more minutes. but he was supposed to be an instant shooter off the bench and he has failed in that role. defensively he is still a problem.
thomas: D- easily the most disappointing player this season. he finally had the prime opportunity to be a starter for the first time in his career and he failed miserably. came into camp too thin to play power forward, his natural position. doesnt have the skills to play small foward. only thing keeping him from an F is that magical game vs the wizards where he had 9 blocks
higgins: F i was slow to jump on the nepotism bandwagon as higgins had a old school flair to his game that i liked, but the more he played the more it was obvious that he was in way over his head, especially at point guard where he has no business trying to play at this level. blame falls 100% on his dad.

Re: Charlotte Bobcats 2011-12 Midseason Report
F :Tyrus Thomas. How the eff does an NBA bigman come into a lockout shortened season 15 lbs under weight?
D+ : DJ White. I was high on him last year but besides a streaky J, he's been pretty bad. He does show effort though.
C- : Byron Mullens. This year's DJ White as in "hey, this guy isn't that bad!" Unfortunately, he's not that good either and needs to improve defense and rebuilding in a major way. Shows more promise than White though.
C++ : Kemba Walker. Expectations weren't that high but he's exceeded them for the most part. Has to work on standard rookie stuff.
A- : Bismack Biyombo. Gets high marks for completely quelling notions of being a bust in my mind. Definitely shows room for improvement on offense but he's still way better at everything than I thought he would be.
B- : Corey Maggette. He is who we thought he was but we really suck without him.
B+ : Gerald Henderson. I'm not quite convinced he's a starting caliber SG yet but he's so close.
A : DJ Augustine. He's come a long way since his low confidence days. We really suck without him.
C+ : Boris Diaw. He's fat, he's still an enigma, he's streaky as hell but damn, he's still our best PF. Still my boy though, his effort has been there everywhere but the fitness dept.
D- : Gana Diop. He's really fat but god bless him, as recipient of the Mark Cuban big man charity contract we should know better than to expect too much.
F : Matt Carroll. All he's (over)paid to do is shoot and he's supplied enough bricks to rebuild the twin towers.
A+ : Eddy Najera. It's Eddy Effing Najera, best hair on the team. Consummate pro.
D- : Cory Higgins. Just like on the court, he's passing, barely. *rimshot*
B : Derrick Brown. Great glue guy and garbage man.
B- : Reggie Williams. Appears to have offense which is desperately needed.
