Kemba2Hendo wrote:Kemba Walker = Met. I didn't know what to expect either but yes his shooting percentages are horrible yet he is still the 3rd leading rookie scorer (.3 points away from 2nd) and still may make the all-nba rookie team.
Bismack Biyombo = Exceeded. I was expecting much on the offensive end but he proved me wrong, I only hope his rebounding average goes up over time.
DJ Augustine = Miserably Failed. Had a chance to have a Great season but blew it. Not much of a team player, always pouts when Kemba gets more minutes.
Gerald Henderson = Met. His injury may have held him back from developing more this year or maybe he just is who is is.
Byron Mullens = Exceeded. Never expected him to shoot as well as he does. Everybody loves Dirk Mullens, Thank you Cho.
Tyrus Thomas = Miserably Failed. Underweight, clumsy, whatever, amnesty him already.
Reggie Williams = Failed. I expected more, he looked good in Golden State's system.
Matt Carroll = Failed What happens to a shooting specialist who can't shoot??
DJ White = Failed Can hit jumpshots from his sweet spot. That's it. - SAME
Eddie F'n Najera = Exceeded Dude is a fan favorite in every city he plays for for a reason. Best hair in the biz. mexicat is a warrior!
Cory Higgins = Fail He had his fluke game tonight but still is not NBA material, chucks almost as much as Kemba but with less talent.
Derrick Brown = Met. He has some nice moves and can play at least 3 positions, I think he will be valuable going forward.
Gana Diop = Failed. I thought he at least could give us some good minutes protecting the rim.
Cory Maggette = Met, I actually figured he'd miss games due to some "nagging injuries", at this point in his career he is what he is and he's the tank commander for a reason.
Silas = Biggest fail in history. What a disgrace to the game of basketball, pick a rotation and stick with it. You say you are going to start Kemba for a while and then DJA pouts and BOOM he is back as the starter the very next game! Worst coach in NBA history, there is a reason he was out of a job for 5 years (or however long it was).

Agree on the players evaluations. Except for Mags. I give him a Fail. Silas was bad, but not as bad as past Coaches we have had to endure. And if it gets us Davis, then it will have been worth it.

Kemba Walker = Met Guessed his ppg would be around 12, wish is FG% was better
Bismack Biyombo = Exceed. I was expecting a hot mess on offense. I was wrong. He's possibly the best draft pick in our history (not saying much, but still). same
DJ Augustine = Failed  . I really expected DJA to step up because of Kemba threatening to take his spot, instead he has played like absolute crap and I still do not know why he is a starter.
Gerald Henderson = Exceed I thought he would not improve much from last season, boy was I wrong, despite his inconsistency he has been our best or second best player this year.
Byron Mullens = Ultra Exceed  . I honestly thought Mullins would play only about 40 minutes the whole seaon and barely see the floor. Instead, he has been one of the 3 bright spots on the team.
Tyrus Thomas = Failed. Underweight? Still baffles me.same.
Reggie Williams = Failed. The dude tries to do way to much when hes on the floor, he probably has the worst efficiency on the team (don't correct me if I'm wrong)
Matt Carroll =Met Knew he would suck, but I must admit it is very smart of Silas to not put him in the rotation (last compliment I will ever give Silas)
DJ White = Failed I thought he would improve from last season, but at least he is not the worse on the team
Eddie F'n Najera = Met Yeah the dude is a great hustler, but I wish he would stop chucking up those threes
Cory Higgins = Ultra-Combo-Exceed :onfire: :onfire: :onfire: He is Gawd, the end.
Derrick Brown = Met. I've always liked Derrick Brown for what he is. Solid bench guy.same
Gana Diop = Exceed. YOU DO NOT DISRESPECT THE DIOP, but seriously he has had a couple decent games this season which is more then I ever expected
Cory Maggette =Met I really did not expect much out of Cory at the beginning of the season, but he is a great great tank commander.

Kemba - Didn't quite meet. His PG skills are a little better than I expected they would be in his rookie season, but I thought he would be a scoring machine right off the bat. FG% is a bummer.

Biyombo - Exceeded. Still has a ton of work to do, but he's much further along than I anticipated.

Augustin - Failed. While I wasn't expecting much improvement, I was hoping he would be solid enough so that we could ship him off at the deadline for something decent. Injuries have been a factor, but his poor level of play is probably going to lead to us to losing yet another lottery PG for nothing.

Henderson - Didn't quite meet. There has been some improvement, but nothing to get excited about.

Mullens - Clearly exceeded.

Thomas - GTFO of here.

Diaw - Colossal failure. I was actually expecting big things from him this season (being in a contract year and all) and he even started off great. I really thought we'd be able to trade him at the deadline for something decent. Instead, he was so bad that he was benched for several games until he was ultimately bought out. Ouch. Another wasted trade asset.

Williams - Failed. I think he'll bounce back next season, but he's been a disappointment this season and we could have really used him.

Maggette - Met. Exactly what I expected out of him. At least we didn't have Stephen Jackson on our roster this season.

Whatever about the rest.

There is only one tank commander.

Now that the season's over, I'll give this a shot, but I'm only going to look at the guys who met or exceeded expectations.

Henderson met expectations. He's basically the same player that he was last season, but given what he did as a rookie, I'm not sure we could have expected much more in his first year as a full-time starter. He's on par with Arron Afflalo, but needs to be able to knock down threes like Afflalo.

Brown exceeded expectations. I was happy to see UPS back in Charlotte after the stint with New York, but I didn't expect more than the occasional flash. He was very solid as a starter in April. On the downside, he may have been a better shooter in his junior season at Xavier than he is now. He's gotta get his shot together, because that's clearly the main thing holding him back.

Biyombo exceed expectations, mostly because I had no idea what to expect. He's a great shot blocker, a decent rebounder, and pretty much inept offensively. I'm sure he'll work hard this summer.

Mullens exceeded expectations, but that's mostly because he was absolutely horrific in the few minutes that he did get in OKC. Outside of the fact that he's 7'0" and has a nice jumpshot, there just isn't much to like here. He doesn't have a post up game, he doesn't rebound well for his position, his defense is generally awful, and he's a worse passer than he is defender. He can thrown it down a little, which is nice to see.

Kemba met expectations. Outside of his horrible shooting, which obviously negates a lot of what I'm about to say, I can't say I'm disappointed. He rebounds well for his position, he's a pretty good passer, he takes good care of the ball, and he plays hard every game. Bonus points for logging a full 66.
Humble yourself.
