I feel like our championship window will be open juuust long enough to justify waiting on Drummond to develop...

Too many issues with MKG to draft at 2. Chad Ford can put him in that spot if he wants, but I cannot believe we would actually draft him there.

BACK TO THE COMBINE:

Watching this evening, Beal did not impress in his drills. Footwork was not good. Analysts said they were concerned about this as it was evident in his college performance. He does not play off the P&R well.

I am more convinced than ever that we should either trade down or trade a player for an extra pick, or both. According to several outlets the Cats have no intention of staying at #2. We'll see. Somebody has to step up enough to make a team want #2 bad enough.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Yeah, for somebody that patterned their game after Allen Iverson, I just don't see any of that.

Whats up fellas, long time no post! I come with peaceful intentions so I hope there's no beef with me posting here. I just wanted to add my two cents to your discussion if you all don't mind. There are two players I think the Bobcats should pick and these are the ONLY two players I see having all star type careers and one of the two I can see having an immediate impact with any team he's drafted to.

If I had to pick anybody at #2, I would pick Harrison Barnes. To me, he reminds me of Paul Pierce with more athleticism. I think he can easilly average around 14 points as a rookie for the Bobcats, he seems to be one of the few lottery picks that is ready to play from day 1, he also seems to be one of the few lottery picks that has a defined position and he has good size at that position. He can shoot of the screen, off the dribble and he can get to the rim, he seems set to be a career starter and possible all star type player.

The other player I would pick will be a bit of a surprise but at his size for the position he can play, I would pick him in a heartbeat, and that player is Austin Rivers. IMO, he has future all star all over him. 6'5, good athleticism, good ball handling skills, good range, and if he is made to be a PG, he would have great size at the position, I'd even say he'll be better than Wall was in his first two years, and a better overall player in general.

Robinson is too small for my liking at the 4, he isn't a great post scorer, he isn't as skilled as I thnk he's made out to be, and at 6'8 he'll be abused by more talented PF's and that'll leave a very small frontcourt with he and Biyombo or even Mullens who isn't very tough inside.

Beal is 6'3 and that is gonna make a small backcourt with he and the Kemba who I'm not very high on at all.

MKG is 6'5 and at the SF position, this isn't a very good.

Drummond has good size and athleticism, but I don't think Charlotte needs another athletic big to try and develop (like Tyrus) and that doesn't seem to be the fortay, this is why I'd select Barnes who is a player who can come in and play from day one. However, if there was a player I'd take besides Barnes or Rivers, it would be Drummond due to the potential he seems to have.
Just my opinion though, I could be wrong, but Barnes seems like he is going to be good for years to come.

I'm just not seeing that comparison. Barnes just didn't do much in college to scream Paul Pierce to me and he is lousy at creating his own shot.

He definitely measured out well at the combine and he has some skills but there is no way he'll transition to PG, he has the court vision of a racehorse. Too much iso.

You've got some valid points on the 1st three but I think they all have some strengths that can help neutralize those weaknesses. I don't think you can compare Tyrus to Drummond though. Tyrus was damaged goods mistakenly traded for and extended by Charlotte whereas Drummond is a guy Charlotte knows they have to develop. Tyrus is a veteran, his giant step back in his game is his fault, not Charlotte's.
