Odens upside is so much more then Diop. We need up front help that badly. Its not so much about justifying it, its more risk/reward. Lets be honest, Charlotte signs anyone, they are going to overpay.

This.

But at the same time I think we make should an offer that isn't overpaying but taking a calculated risk. How can it hurt if we make a similar or maybe slightly better offer than the Cavs. Worst case scenario is that he says no.

are we really talking about over paying for a guy that has not played in 2 years and even before that only played 82 games in 5 years? greg oden has not been injury free since his junior year of HIGH SCHOOL so what makes you think that now he is going to be healthy for a full 82? I am not a fan at all but if he is a bobcats i am going to wish him the best and hope that he is grant hill and not brandon roy

I'm in the "probably not worth the risk" camp.

You and me both. Although I won't be devastated if we do.

    Swedd is right....If you always do what you always done you will always get what you have always gotten. We already have good backup centers in Haywood and Biz. We need a young 7' starter with both offensive and defensive skills. I would rather see us invest in Cody Zellar than Oden.
