Our players are so weary of some of the blatant tanking we've done the first couple months of the season, that we don't even give a **** anymore about even putting up a fight. If Mully and Hendo decide to just take their QOs this year so they can be UFAs in 2014 to get away from this team, I honestly do not blame them. I'll be disappointed, but not even remotely shocked. The tanking (and probably Ben Gordon's beef) has really **** this team up. If things don't drastically improve tomorrow night against Portland, I'm not watching this team for a while. It's starting to feel like an annoying chore.
Cho always states that he wants to develop a culture with this team, but there is a difference in being bad like say, the Hornets or Cavaliers and still drafting high in the lottery than being just absolutely terrible. If anything we/he is developing a culture of losing. Its about time that Cho begins to start getting some hell around here as well.
This is my only beef with Cho right now. The team is so bad for several years, and hired a coach with nothing going for him other than the fact he's not Paul Silas and not Larry Brown, and is blatantly tanking a little too hard. I understand being a team with little talent and struggling, which is what we were, but a struggle means you're putting up a fight, we're not even doing that anymore.
The 7-5 start followed by going 6-41, PROVES to me that this isn't only not being talented enough to compete. We weren't a playoff team but this team is talented enough to hang around and we did that most nights, just falling short, until recently. This team doesn't give a **** anymore, and we're just going through the motions. If losing to the Jazz and the Kings by a combined 66 points doesn't raise some red flags then our entire management needs a damn overhaul. At least Seattle/OKC's tank was bearable. They were bad, but they weren't useless, apathetic, or dysfunctional.
If anything this shouldn't have been a tanking year, this should've been a year for everyone to buy into our system and at least create some kind of identity for ourselves. What are we tanking for? Even if we grab the #1 pick, there's no future star in this draft, so might as well actually play this season, get players morale up, gain some kind of chemistry, even prove to more casual fans that this isn't an epically dysfunctional team, and get a top 7-ish pick, then tank for 2014. Unless Cho seriously thinks there's a superstar in this draft, I have no idea what he's doing in this regard.
