I have tried to split it up into player sections and make it as easy to read and figure out as possible, hope you enjoy the read!
I will be tweeting out news and quotes from the Bobcats media for the next hour! First bit of news, Abdul Gaddy and Troy Daniels have training camp invites
Al Jefferson has gone to coach Clifford and asked him to be extra harsh on him, make an example of him. How many NBA stars do that!?
Every Bobcats player appeared on September 5th for optional workouts apart from Jeff Taylor (Eurobasket) who had been in most over summer
two phases of off season: summer individual development (skill, watch film, what to concentrate on) September: worked on the team as a whole
Matt Rochinski used to have to bring Clifford video footage at 6am back when they worked in Houston together. #GreatWorkEthic
Steve Clifford:
-"Management decided our team were ready to take the next step" (code for stop tanking)
-Training Camp Day 1 tomorrow: Clifford "Transitions offence and defence, high pick and roll and side pick and roll, keep it high intensity"
- "Ben Gordon planned to be used off the bench, he has worked really hard and is hoping he plays like he did in Chicago"
- "I took this job for two reasons, the Competitiveness and skill level of the younger guys
- "Players disagreeing with me is not a bad thing, that will happen. Now I don't want there to be arguments every day"
- "I'm not proud of Jeff Taylor, but I am excited to work with him, he is smart and very talented"
- Al Jefferson when asked if he has any social media "I don't do any of that Twitterbook
Cody Zeller
-Since summer league Zeller has been workin on getting bigger and stronger. Zeller "I want it really bad" when talking about starting PF spot
-Josh McRoberts has been the most welcoming to Zeller since he joined the team, helped for a smooth transition. Zeller is enjoying charlotte
- @CodyZeller apartment is not haunted, the lights were coming on because of a faulty fuse #NoSuchThingAsGhosts
Brendan Haywood
- Haywood cares more about fantasy football that Bobcats media day, he is beating Matt Rochinski right now. #Legend
- "My foot is doing better, they are going to bring me along slowly so there are no setbacks"
- A theme from the players is the structure that Clifford will bring, lots of players referring to his game plans and knowing their roles
- Haywood with the correct answer to "what is a successful season for the cats? "The team gets better and everyone improves.
- "Dwight Howard is the hardest player to defend for me, athletic and physical"
- " We have a lot of people, but I will go with Kemba for the funniest guy in the locker room"
Bizmack Biyombo
-Biz is up... Looks HUGE
- " I have had an amazing time with coach Clifford, I know exactly where I stand."
- " We have tons of scorers on the team, but we don't have many shot blockers or re bounders. I have to do those things better"
- "I have been watching film, where should I be when my team shoot the ball to grab the board, also when to help on defence"
- "I know my role on the team right now, but that wont stop me from improving other areas of my game"
Biz on Ewing " We work before, during and after practice. I never stop asking questions, even if he gets tired of me I will find him"
- " I want to increase my blocks from last year, I know that will be a challenge but its something that I really want to do"
- I am pretty sure Biz would have as much fun watching paint dry as you or me would winning the lottery!
Kemba Walker
- Been working on his three point shot and his passing ability
- MKG is like a little brother to him, they love hanging out together, Adrian to
- I think Kemba has a thing for the Bobcats social media coordinator Eryn Gradwell, can't blame him...
-I think Kemba must have said the word "win" upwards of 50 times in one interview, all he wants to do.
Ramon Sessions
- "I'm healthy I feel 100%, the staff are direct, he gets to the point and we get straight to work"
- " I think teams who go the young-young route struggle. I think having a mixture with some vets works a lot better"
- "We have to be one of the top second units in the league, me, BG, JT, Bismack... The list goes on" (hint Biz wont be starting PF?)
- @RickBonnell sighting at Bobcats media day, hiding behind Matt Rochinski. Looking good Rick, nice summer tan
- Nobody has re tweeted or replied to any tweets, other than the ones about Eryn Gradwell. Give the fans what they want!
Jeff Adrian
- Jeff Adrian has got a new hair cut called "The South of France"... Is it just to give him another few inches as he is so undersized!?
- Jeff Adrian just dropped a clanger "Sometimes in Charlotte there is not always something to do, we are playing 2k14 right now and Madden"
- Most important news from media day, MKG hasn't wont on madden against Kemba or Jeff Adrian yet.
- Jeff Adrian using the Reggie Evans comparison for himself, energy, rebounding, toughness
- " Beating Chicago last year was the best experience for me as a Bobcat" Adiran has 9 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks that night
Jannero Pargo
- Judging from Pargo's air golf swing that I can see behind Adrian he must be a horrible golfer...
- "Expect to see me doing a lot of coaching on the side lines, Kemba and Sessions are probably going to hate me!"
- "Kyrie Irving is the toughest player to guard in the league for me, he can shoot, can go left and right hand"
- "Funniest guy in the team? "Easy question, Al Jefferson is the funniest guy on the team, he is hilarious!"
Ben Gordon
- "I have had a lot of ups and downs in my career but I like the focus of the team so far, it is like training camp has already started
- "Give credit to the front office, they acted upon every questions asked by the players at the exit meetings last year"
- " I feel we as a team are ahead of the curve, we have already adjusted to the new coach and new players"
Ben Gordon will be featured this year on http://Bobcats.com this year with behind the scene interviews and some other surprises.
- "Jefferson and Tolliver have been two of the most surprising players so far this off season."
Gordon did just make the Tolliver-Mullens comparison #LetsHopeNot
Anthony Tolliver
- "This is one of my favourite teams already, the locker room all get on and are on the same wavelength, they also want to work hard"
- " I have the ability to shoot from further out than McRoberts and Zeller, I can also slide over to the SF, I'm versatile."
- "Not many people say they love to play defence, but I do" I Think every single player in the league says he loves playing Defence
Jeff Taylor
**Smile Alert** Jeff Taylor just smiled and laughed within 5 seconds of each other, stay with us for updates...
Taylor was in Charlotte May- July working out after doing some soul searching to decide where he wanted to improve
Taylor been working on shooting, post game and when to cut etc...
- "Most underrated part of my game is my dunking, when I did the 360 it went viral. I have always done that, maybe I need to do more?
Summary
That brings media day to an end!
I have been James Plowright tweeting you through the 2014 Bobcats media day.
