mkg is just a much better player than hendo. hendo is blah at everything. Lets not forget how much Clifford also puts an emphasis on rebounding. hendo and taylor are both mediocre rebounders at best. hendo + taylor + mcroberts is a bad recipe for rebounding.

id be happy with kemba, taylor, mkg, mcroberts, jefferson

then key players off bench are: sessions, hendo, zeller, biyombo

very few minutes would then go to - pargo, gordon, tolliver, adrien, haywood (when he returns)

thats the 9 man rotation, which is all there is generally minutes for. hendo and zeller could go in attack mode and blow up 2nd units.

all this said, from what clifford has said, taylor over hendo doesnt seem likely unless taylor really crushes it.

maybe there is a team with an abundance of wings that cant defend but can stroke it. perhaps they need a wing who can defend?

hendo to sacto for thornton? meh.

Someone like Wesley Matthews would be a good target. I'm sure Portland would deal him for the right price.

I don't think Portland would give him up in a trade where the main piece we ship is Hendo. He's an underrated player around the league, his value might be overrated in Portland and he's on a cheaper contract than Gerald.

Hendo makes less than him, he just has a player option for 2015-16. I doubt Portland gets a better player in return for moving Matthews, if they did.

An option for three-point shooting at the 4 would be Ryan Anderson, who Clifford worked with a lot in Orlando.

Coming from a huge MKG fan and supporter, let him come off the bench. Having your #31 pick start over your #2 pick doesn't look good for the Cats drafting once more, but oh well.

What do you know this team has spacing issues yet again... I wonder if this has anything to do with our refusal to draft a player with elite three point shooting. Every single year during draft time we hear about how guys like Klay Thompson, Bradley Beal, and Ben McLemore will be nothing more than spot up shooters. I have campaigned for every single one of these guys, but wow how much more balanced would our lineup be with one of these guys.

We would look so much better if we had selected Beal over MKG. Taylor would be ready to slide into the starting 3 role, with Hendo being 6th man.

if we could i'd like to trade Hendo for Mike Dunleavy (Bulls) Chicago gets a 6th man or starter and a pretty good scorer to pair with D-Rose and Co. (and another defender) and Charlotte gets a 6'9" sharpshooter to fix the spacing issues

Hell no. Henderson>>>>>>>Dunleavy. If you're that desperate for three-point shooting then go get Daniel Gibson, Mickael Pietrus, Luke Babbitt, or Daequan Cook out of free agency.

3 For 358: The Bobcats Biggest Dilemma

In giving Al Jefferson a twelve million dollar per year deal, the Bobcats expect the big man not only to put up his own numbers, but also to create easier opportunities for his teammates. Al’s successfully filled this role before, passing out of double teams and creating open shots for the shooters on his team. The problem for the Cats, who is that shooter? This dilemma isn’t a one way street either. If teams don’t respect the Cats perimeter players, they will double team Big Al far more aggressively, which will hurt his production. Even if the backcourt players step in closer, it’s a losing proposition. The defense has less distance to recover from the rotation and long 2′s are the worst shot in basketball. Teams need to be fearful of a 3-point shooter on the court to maximize what Big Al can provide.

Through five preseason games, the projected backcourt starters, Kemba Walker, Gerald Henderson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist have combined to make just three 3-pointers in a combined 358 minutes. To put it another way, Kemba Walker has hit three 3-pointers this preseason, while Henderson and Kidd-Gilchrist have combined to make zero. 358 minutes is the nearly the equivalent of 10 full quarters of minutes for those three starting positions and making only 1.2 3-pointers per game will not cut it.

That article lead me to believe that we'll occasionally see a lot of Kemba and Gordon in the backcourt together with Jefferson on the floor than originally expected even if it compromises the defense.

It's only preseason but that's a big reason why I wanted McLemore. If we don't draft some shooters this year I will go insane.

Colin Hoggard ‏@ColinWFNZ 50m

Reminder: Bobcats projected starting PG, SG, and SF have combined for 3 made 3-pointers in 445 total preseason minutes.

I like who we've drafted and everything, but when we passed up Bradley Beal and Ben Mclemore two years in a row, you can't help but be a little frustrated by this problem.

My opinion, benching MKG would destory his shaky confidence. He was never meant to be a 3 point threat. MKG would not be a problem if we had a three-point shooting guard, as 90% of the league does. Bench Hendo for Taylor, let him lead the second unit and drop buckets. Hendo plays like Kobe-lite and doesn't help anyone else out on offense. We need to trade for or draft a sharpshooter and we would be fine. I understand that we tried to fix our piss-poor interior game but now it's time to address our biggest need.

Hoping we draft Gary Harris with one of our picks.
