I think in the starting lineup we are better than them at every position except SF and we are a lot deeper imo. Obviously they have Melo as a superstar but does he really make up for that much? Dude needs some help over there. I feel like its not even that homerish. Felton/Bargnani/Chandler/Shumpert are not exactly high quality starters. JR Smith is nice but he is their entire bench. Amare/Metta I guess could be good but I don't see what makes them better than Taylor/Zeller

Having Melo as a superstar makes a big difference, but other than that, they have experience. The way how Biyombo has been rebounding of late he could very well be on a parallel level to Chandler, emphasis on 'could'. I believe the Knicks will have a down year this year where they'll finish between 6th-8th seed in the East which will make it easier for Melo to exit into free-agency during the offseason

Wha...

Let's start from the best parts: Kemba's better than Felton. Of course. Our power forward rotation of McBob and Zeller miiiiight be better than stoudemire/Bargnani but only defensively. On the other hand, I'll take Chandler over Jefferson any day of the week because chandler is a top notch defensive player and rebounder while also being very efficient offensively. Biz is a wild card for us anything could happen. Then the wings- JR+Shumpert better than Hendo+Taylor. Sessions makes up the remainder of our bench, NY has depth everywhere. Right now ny looks like the better team, but now here is the main difference: Melo vs. MKG

NY is so much better it isn't funny. Can we be good? Yeah, but not NY good.

Chandler better than Jefferson? lol. not even close bud. I said Smith is good but I'll take our back court unit over theirs any day of the week. We have 2 point guards that are better than Felton by a huge margin. Hendo and Smith aren't far apart statistically at all. Shumpert is among the most overrated in the league (defensive stopper that isn't a stopper). Bargnani is utter garbage, Amare looked good but you can only count on him for 50 games at 15mpg nowadays. Zeller is better than him right now. Metta is washed up. I'm not a fan of their depth at all. All they have is Melo.

Obviously they'll be better than us because they are old, and old teams go to the playoffs but its obvious how their season is going to go. Melo is gonna hurt himself having to carry them again, he'll limp through playoffs and they'll be out inthe first round.

PG-Kemba is better than Felton and Felton is about the same as Sessions with better jumper and Pargo and Pablo are equal- Charlotte better

SG-JR is better than Hendo,Iman is about the same as JT both 3 and D players, Knicks are better

SF-Melo is better than all our SF's combined, Knicks way better

PF-Amar'e is better than Zeller and McBob (Amar'e averaged 14 and 5 in just 23mpg), Barg is better than Adrian by a lot and Martin is still decent Knicks better

C-Is Tysons defense better than Al's offense probably not and the other C they have is Cole Aldrich, Charlotte better

so overall the Knicks are quite a bit better Charlotte is a year or 2 from being a legit playoff team

Chandler's defense is in fact better than Jefferson's offense. Chandler is a complete paint protector and a true defensive anchor and easily top 3 in the league at that. Rebounds better as well. Jefferson is a great post scorer but he too has flaws in his offensive game as he is a bit of a black hole sometimes.

On the flipside, I'll take Chandler's offensive deficiencies over Jefferson's defense deficiencies. Chandler scores 10-11 ppg on absurd percentages and is a powerful finisher who you can throw lobs to easily. There is nothing really nice I can say about Jefferson's defense.

I'll say Chandler is more impactful than Jefferson and significantly.
