exactly. there are at least 40 shooting guards in the league who can average 14ppg on 42% if given 30+ minutes and enough shots. you could replace hendo with cartier martin or alan anderson and our offense would miss a beat.

i'll give hendo credit for his defense, which is better than league average for his position... most nights.

Melo finished with 62, I guess the next time we see a confident MKG will be in 2014-15.

henderson makes me want to punch babies. how many open 3s did he pass up tonight? he cant take anyone off the dribble so he never gets to the rim. how can someone that athletic continue to settle for contested fade away jumpers game after game?

clifford waited too long to double melo. he also made a mistake by trying to counter their small ball lineups with mcroberts and jefferson together.

all that being said, there really wasnt much we could have done to stop melo once he got going. that was insane. standing ovation for melo. he deserved it.

Fat I disagree with you with regards to MKG. I have said months ago that this coach could ruin this guy and everything you are saying about him is a reflection of bad coaching and it's effects on young players. MKG is out of position offensively, he's not protected and coached up by being put in position to be productive, he's told he's not a very good offensive player when in reality that's not the case, he's told his jump shot looks bad and that it needs to be changed, he's subbed on offensive posessions if he gets to play in the clutch (which he normally doesn't) and he doesn't have the faith of his coach to get the bulk of the minutes no matter who his backup is. So I agree, MKG is struggling, and I completely understand why but I'm blaming every coach on the staff.

My question is, why isn't Clifford doing a better job getting MKG in areas where can produce, if MKG's weakness is jump shooting, why is he camped out in the corner outside the frame of the offense? That cripples the whole team by them moving the ball but on the side of the court MKG isn't on because they purposely are not trying to put the ball in MKG's hands. MKG knows what's going on, this is damaging to a young players psyche, and it stunts his development. He can be getting 10-15 touches in a area where he can produce at, it's not like we're making a major push for the playoffs, so let's see what he can really do before we let these guys send him away as a bust.

Kemba had a coach who was brought in solely to help him and the coach brought a whole system that we still run just to help him score, all I'm saying is put the guy in position where he can be a productive part of the offense, cause he's more than just a defensive player. We put him on the perimeter and blame him for not being a great perimeter player when we know that was never his game, makes no sense.

One more thing, if you draft a guy who you know has shortcomings, but he's young, it's the teams job to coach the players up. Young players need coaches who are gonna be there for the long run who can develop them into the player they're projected to one day be. If you get a player like MKG, and he has flaws that need coaching, and he gets a new coach every year, his development will get lost in the coaching carousel. This is what is happening with MKG now, only now, he has a coach that really doesn't like MKG's game. Everything that's happening with him, I already told you guys would happen, MKG is a very good player and he really hasn't had the chance to even scratch the surface of what kind of player he can be.

Nothing cures your ails like a game against the Bobcats. Even while improving CHA is embarrassing.

1) he got into foul trouble
2) even though his defense on melo decent, it did no good. melo abused him, like he wasnt even on the floor.
3) when we were down a lot, cliff went for offense instead of MKG (who frankly looked bad on offense outside of the two passes he made to jefferson and the couple of dunks)

that being said, im not sure why he didnt play in garbage time. god knows he needs the minutes to get his game going. perhaps cliff was saving him for tonight knowing the game was over.

MKG should guard Boozer. I'm not even joking about that.
