For the Blazers pick and cap space I would do Gordon + Haywood for Green + Bass.

I personally wouldn't do it but I obviously have no idea how motivated Ainge is to make a move.

Well I wonder if the Bobcats like both players enough to sacrifice virtually all of the team's cap space and I suspect Ainge wants to 1)Tank 2)Free cap space 3)Add cheap assets/draft picks. I don't think either player is part of your rebuild. But again, the Bobcats are going to be very selective in investing that cap space. We are exiting a rebuild and we want good fits. We have to explore all options.

I hear you, and I don't think it's a terrible deal or anything. I just wonder how much Ainge sees Green as part of the "core".

I imagine anybody except Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger can be had so maybe there is the basis of a deal between Boston and Charlotte.

I agree with you here. What about Avery Bradley?

Would the Bulls give us our pick back if we traded them Gordons expiring for Boozer?

Boozer is an improvement at PF, and we would have him on an expiring contract next year. Basically we would be taking on an extra year of a bad contract, but would get our pick back. Also while Gordon doesn't play and is no help, Boozer would start and give big Al the rebounding help he needs. Boozer could give us 15 points nightly and 8-10 rebounds.

It is one more year of a bad contract to gain immediate help at PF, get our pick back, and doing this without giving up any extra assets. Would make playoffs and still have 3 first rounders. Could package two of them and move up if we wanted to. Would have cap space next offseason, or use Boozers expiring in a better deal next year.

I'd do it. I despise McRoberts and Zeller (to a lesser extent) though so you're probably listening to the wrong fan. That cap space is worthless, honestly because 1)the free agent class sucks 2)nobody of significance is guaranteed to want to play here so you can't earmark those funds. That's the whole reason why our front office is shopping that cap space in the first place. We know it doesn't mean much in this market.

Bulls would rather just amnesty Boozer and keep the pick.

Chicago probably wont trade Boozer unless they get something meaningful for him, but us trading BG for Boozer + our pick would still save them money, even when they amnesty him they still have to pay his contract it just doesn't take up cap any more

What about a 3-way trade with Boston and Chicago? If you guys are keen on getting Taj,

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=k77hwoy

Chicago Trade:
Taj Gibson
MDJ
Chicago 1st round 2014 pick
Chicago Receive:
Kris Humphries

Bobcats Trade:
Ben Gordon
Bobcats Receive:
Taj Gibson
MDJ

Boston Trade:
Kris Humphries
Boston Receive:
Ben Gordon
Chicago 1st round 2014 pick

That is, if Chicago are serious about going after Melo, that frees up a lot of space for them, you guys get Taj and MDJ to make a playoff push (which is the direction the FO wants to go) and Boston acquires a first round pick for helping Chicago cut salary.

This is my thought behind the trade. It really does benefit both teams. Chicago wants to make a run at Carmelo or another big name, this will cost them a lot of mony. The amnesty of Boozer, and they still have to pay him even though it doesn't count against their cap. So they would be paying him all that money while he plays for another team. I am sure they would consider the idea.

I would not be against adding a future second round pick or a Jeff Taylor. Boozer makes us better now, we make the playoffs and still get the 3 picks.

Boozer hurts our defense. He's too similar in Big Al. Even MKG's defense couldn't cover the defensive flaws of both Al and Booz.

Im not even sure if Boozer would start over McRoberts at this point. McRoberts was on Dirk tonight like stink on poop. Im beginning to think his defense is very underrated.

To be fair, Dirk was injured and didn't look right from what I saw.

I was mainly referring to before McRoberts stepped on his ankle. McBob was all over the place tonight, dropping dimes everywhere.

I can't imagine the Bulls would go for that. Trading Gibson and getting very little back to clear the decks for Melo is one thing. Paying someone with a draft pick to trade Gibson away for very little is quite another.

Get rid of the 1st rounder CHI is giving up and give them Portland's pick. They should be receiving a pick, not giving on up.
