Re: Dieng/Biyombo
3 years ago, when Gorgui Dieng was Bismack Biyombo's age he averaged 9.1 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks in 32.8 minutes per game at Louisville...
I'm absolutely sure that Bismack Biyombo could've posted those stats at the collegiate level, and likely would've been the most physically imposing defensive presence the NCAA has seen in decades

that is going a little overboard but everything else is probably right

An 18-year-old Biyombo would've done better against college kids.
investigate Adam Silver

I don't think that's going overboard. Biyombo is currently (advanced) statistically the best rim protector in the NBA, and 3rd in block percentage. If Biyombo can alter shots at that type of rate in the NBA, what do you think he'd do in the NCAA ranks? For example, do you remember his performance in the Nike Hoop Summit?

Also consider that he would not have to worry at all about defensive warnings for hanging in the lane. Stick him in the center of the Syracuse zone or at the back end of the Louisville pressure defense and he would kill teams. Imagine his speed with Pitino's pressure defense. I would have loved to see him against talent his own age for the past three years.

He's a better overall player but a worse role player. As overall players, they're both not very good. Dieng is pretty much a finished product so Biz can narrow that overall gap and really extend the role player gap.

Re: Dieng/Biyombo
They are both good players, but I would stick with Biz. Big men playing there best ball between 25-30 is about what I expect to see. Deing is a lot closer to 25 and they are playing close to the same level so I think the ceiling is a lot higher with Biz.
