Good win, it seems like we're kinda getting our stuff together. Kemba got busy and his having a nice streak. He seems to be attacking more and he also seems to be usng his quickness more agressively against opposing guards and the bigs who attempt to defend him as opposed to dancing and looking for the crossover, I like that and hope he continues to do this.

Al has closed the past few games very well also. He still needs to be more aggressive defensively but he looks to be coming into form. I'd like to see MKG involved in the offense in the 4th quarter at least to keep the opposing defenses honest. He should get a attempt or two in the post area where he's comfortable and has a good chance to score. This will only give us more options late when we need scorers as opposed to just hoping kemba and Al can save the day. If we do this, and use Lance in the 4th as the PG in order to focus on running the offense as opposed to looking score I think we can turn this around. Zeller is improving, Marv is showing he can stretch the floor, and using Kemba off the ball late makes scoring easier for him as opposed trying to set the offense and then score. I like what the guys are showing us, and I think a few more adjustments are all we need to really turn this around.

Nothing to gain off this win to be honest. We're a bad team that beat one of the worst teams of all time.

The only difference in the game was Phillys turnovers, 25 of them and we scored 34 points off them

Everything else was close

FG%: us 44% then 45%
3pt%: us 41% them 46%
FT: us 13 made them 15 made

That was an impressive performance by Kemba. Three of four from three and efficiently hitting jumpers is a nice improvement even if the defense wasn't as good. There's something to be said for having a game where you get to see the ball go in the basket.

A few thoughts the morning after:

Kemba has been really good (minus that one stretch at the end of the PHX game where our offense totally stalled) for several games now, and that was what I thought about most at the end of this win. A lot of the shots are the same as earlier in the year, they're just falling now. I still feel like he can cut a lot of fat out of his game, mostly the long pullup 2s when he cuts just below the screener, but it's hard to argue with those results last night.

Al was still trying to force things too much when the matchup did not favor him early on, he needs to have more confidence in the rest of the offense. The Sixers are a unit filled with long-armed leapers and it stifled him badly in the first part of the game. It was good to see him break through by the 4th quarter, and I think the main difference was that by then the defense couldn't bring the quick double because everyone else had already proven to be a threat from range. Well, that and the Sixers basically playing garbage time defense. If Al can get his when the matchup favors him (or he gets the 1-1 treatment) and kick it back out when his preferred look isn't there it will make us that much more effective. I know he can do that, I've seen it plenty, it just seems as though the "drop my head down, eff whatever the defense throws at me, I'm shooting" mindset has come up a bit more this year. I think a lot of it is just the pressure of being The Guy trying to lift a mediocre offense. Hoping to see a lot more of the opportunistic Al that showed up in the 4th, and less of the bull in a china shop Al seen in the 1st.

Hendo was really showing out, same with Marv. When both of them are hitting their preferred shots early in the game it really opens things up. Some of that was Sixer incompetence, but many of those shots were ones they get against every defense every night and they just rim out. I'd still like to see Hendo turn some of those long fadeaway 2s into 3s (not fadeaway, to be clear) and it's been heartening to see him shooting more from behind the arc this year. If he can make that slight adjustment, just a few inches further back, in his game he can really help his efficiency.

Jesus Rex looked bad. Looked like rookie Rex. His timing was all over the place and he was flailing about like Bambi on ice.

PJ keeps looking worse and worse. He needs to learn to start driving the ball when his shot is off - which seems to be often.

Kemba with a great scoring night. Just as well - 23 FGA's is a lot. Loved seeing him take controlled, smooth three pointers and not off balanced or leg kicking J's.

Took Al a long time to get going but when he did looked good. God he SUCKS on D though. Put your damn hands up at least. He puts his hand out no higher than a ahooters waist like he's scared their d*ck is going to shoot the ball or something.

I still missed Lance tonight.

That said, I think I'm on board with trading him for Joe Johnson.

    We looked good against worse team in NBA.. Couldn,t understand with back to backs why Coach didn't rest starters in 4th quarter when we were up 17-20? Would have liked to see Rob,PJ,JT Von and Biz on floor together for 3-5 minutes.. I bet that we would have lost no ground and still won by 17-20?

I was at the game. Kemba even gave me a head nod after a 3-pointer. It was probably the best game I could ask for from the Sixers in the Wells Fargo Center this season being that I got to see Kemba score his season-high on good efficiency

Lucky you! Do you think Kemba is out of his slump? I think he most definitely is out of his slump. His recent performance should give the front office more confidence in the extension and MJ has to feel good about his keystone player. Hopefully all transactions will be deliberated in the context of Kemba as the foundation rather than this build-around-Al-with-shooters scheme they came into the season with.

It appears that Kemba is out of his slump, mostly due to the fact that he's taking more controlled/balanced shots in rhythm off the dribble rather than looking like he's playing on a unevenly inclined floor going downhill towards the basket

As far as Jefferson, Clifford just need to hold him more accountable on the defensive end and overall effort to the point where he's willing to send a message by sharing his minutes with Biyombo

When Lance went down the other night Biz was hovered over him the entire time seeing if he was ok.
