I have a feeling that the Lamb trade might not get done until draft night and will be a part of a slightly larger package for us to move back to 14. In this scenario I'd probably be fine with Barnes + 9 for Lamb + PJIII + a second round pick or some kind of future pick swap option.

This may sound weird, and might be a case of creeping determinism, but the Batum trade makes me want to trade up in the draft even more. If we are going to mortgage some of our future for immediately results then we might as well mortgage a tad more before we get stuck in the treadmill and actually go for an elite prospect while we are picking so close to the top tier. We are going to be picking mid first the next two seasons so I'm definitely throwing out a future first and PJ to move up. I'd also be willing to take on a bad contract as long as it isn't too bad. I' If we can an elite wing prospect that gives us some major insurance if we lose Batum to free agency.

My priorities on draft night in order would be, 1: Move up for Russell or Hezonja, 2: take Winslow at 9 if he falls (or Hezonja), 3: move back for Payne or Grant.

Payne isnt going past 12.

Tyus Jones.

You would take Jones over Grant, or do you not think Grant will be there at 14?

The trades today make me a lot more interested in Winslow than I previously was. Can you imagine upgrading backup SF from PJ to Winslow and possibly getting a better version of MKG in the future at the same time... Sounds good to me.

As far as a pure backup PG I would absolutely take Jones over Grant. Grant is a 6'5 guard who is 22 years old, and is a hell of an athlete, but as far as a pure PG goes... You have to go with Tyus Jones. Most oustanding player of the final four.

When ND beat Duke the first time Grant had a hell of a game, was phenomenal. Had 23, 12, and 6. They also beat Duke again, he wasn't as good that time, but he was solid.

But Tyus Jones has a ton of room to grow, is 3 years younger, and is a pure PG.

Edit: And yes, I am biased of Jones over Grant. I'd absolutely love either one of them. But watching Jones hit shot over shot and be clutch as hell in the NCAA tournament, and over the course of the regular season was just phenomenal.

I haven't paid much attention to either of them so I've just been going by who was generally rated prospect. If Tyus is better than Grant then I'm fine with it. I do like Grant's size though.

Grant could be another Oladipo. Great athlete, good player in general. He freaking killed Duke in January. But Jones just has this thing about him, clutch, hes young, hes just not a dynamite athlete.

Duke always get killed by some random in the ACC that get overrated for it and bust in the NBA.

Surprised Porzingis falls to 6 considering EVERYONE is saying that is who the Magic covets.

If we trade up with the Knicks to steal Porzingis from the Magic and only give up expirings and picks (9 and 2016 1st) I will defend Cho to the day I die.

Oh wow, I forgot about Porzingis because I had been so focused on wings before today. Yeah, I think Cho would totally redeem anything he may have messed up in the past, potentially including this Portland deal, if he managed to pull that off. If the sequence of events of this off-season ends with getting Porzingis, using the MLE on a backup PG, and signing Biz to his qualifying offer, then Cho is going to go from looking like a dope to a mastermind.

It is going to be a trade down with Boston, they want Turner, you want a PF like Sullinger.
Sullinger+16+33 for 9+39

You draft a couple of solid guys, most likely wing and point guard, and add Sully.

I would much rather have Grant than Jones. I do not believe Jones will be very good.

I'm pretty excited about tonight - I have ZERO idea what we're going to do at this point. With the Lamb trade in limbo and Batum onboard the variables are wild. Trades aside, I think my main man Mario will be off the board, and am kind of hoping for WCS at this point. Probably in the minority here, but Zeller, Hawes, WCS, Al present some interesting looks. I have an odd feeling that Biz ain't coming back, which is sad 'cause I like the guy.
