Am I the only one who liked it when Mo Williams started?? neither him or Kemba will play D anyway, and he is a better fit (when it comes to spacing) with big al, mkg..

Kemba off the bench for instant scoring punch. We could just let him do his thing without restrictions. leading 6th man of the year candidate if u ask me

I may cop a bit of heat for this but:

Mo' / Kemba / Roberts
Batum / Lamb
MKG / Batum / Hairston
Kaminsky / Hawes
Biz / Al

I think Kemba adds more value coming off the bench for scoring and with our starters we have scoring power with Batum, Mo' & Kaminsky with MKG and Biz offering enough in D.

Thoughts?

Yeah cheers, from Melbourne :D

I didn't include Zeller as I'm not sure he'll be playing straight away. When in, he'll start most weeks but I'm not sure who he can pair up with on the front court and which PF/C duo will be most effective for us.

I think Zeller probably starts at PF at the beginning of the season, but I don't really know how long that lasts. As he can defend the 4/5, he makes more sense as the first big off the bench. By the end of the year (provided everyone is healthy), it will probably be:

Kemba/FA back-up PG/Roberts
Batum/Lamb/P.J.
MKG/Williams/Batum
Kaminsky/Zeller/Williams
Al/Zeller/Hawes

I don't think we're going to re-sign Biz, but if we do, you can slot him in probably right ahead of Zeller at C.

I think it's pretty obvious we are going to go with...

Kemba- Roberts
Batum- Lamb- Daniels
MKG- PJ
Zeller-Frank- Marvin
Big Al- Hawes- Biz

However, I think Clifford goes to more of a 9 man rotation, more nights than others last season. Using Roberts(other PG), Lamb (3 man wing rotation with MKG and Batum), Frank and either Hawes or Biz as backup 5. That leaves Marvin, Daniels, PJ and whichever backup center not getting minutes most nights.

We have a lot of flexibility with this team...
Zeller, Frank, and Hawes can all play the 4 or 5.
Batum and MKG can play anywhere from 2-4.
PJ and Lamb can play both wings.
Marvin can play the 3 and 4.

I would let Taylor walk, Resign Biz even if he does not play a ton this year we have tons of money next year and use him in an Ezeli role, and then sign a PG who can create his own shot and give you some big games off the bench (Mo, LIN, Cory Joesph, or CJ Watson).

I've been thinking all along that Cliff will start Al... and that's probably not going to change, but what do you guys think of making Al the 6th man? I was previously thinking we should just trade Al (and am not sure 've changed my mind), But what if we could start a group like this:

Walker
Batum
MKG
Zeller
Hawes

and Al would be the main option off the bench. The first unit would create lots of spacing to let Walker run wild and then Al he would be able to come in and change the flow of the game while giving an immediate scorer from the Bench. It keeps Al fresher over the course of the season and probably lets him produce more efficiently.

Al for 6moy!

while that may be a good idea, That will never happen. Just the polotics alone will pervent Al from comeing off the bench

Didn't stop Draymond Green from starting and knocking David Lee down to the bench. Just need the right circumstances.

Big Al come back in shape and he'll easily be our best big without much debate. I think we'll need him to make the playoffs. More importantly than Al's flaws as a defender and black hole is for Clifford to hold him accountable where he either give more effort for the team or get benched like you guys want.

I thought it was interesting that Clifford said today that Jefferson was on a specific training regime, or something like that.

If he can come into camp in shape... That changes things, a lot.

If he comes into camp fat as hell... Who knows

Cliff can talk all he want because when it come to Cliff holding Al accountable? I'll believe it when I see it.

Good read.

After the Draft, Clifford made it a point to say out loud what many of us were already thinking: he would be experimenting with Kaminsky/MKG/Batum/Lamb/Kemba small-ball lineups next season.

This is pretty much the main line up I am really intrigued by right now.
Add Zeller rotating at the 4/5 with mkg sliding down to the 3, if he isnt already injured AND I want to see some minutes for PJ and Daniels at the 2 so there are constantly shooters on the floor.

How I see the Depth Chart playing out.
----------------
KW, Hopfully Back up PG, Brob
Batum, Lamb, PJ, Daniel
MKG, Batum, Marv, PJ
Zeller, FRANK, Marv, AL, Hawes
Al, Hawes, Zeller, FRANK

* this is just for the starting lineup. Our 3&4 & 5s are all pretty interchangeable depending on match-ups in game. Flipping Marv for a decent back up makes a lot of sense. Batum\MKG can play small ball 4 if need be.

Vanderbilt_Grad wrote:Honestly it wouldn't shock me if Batum eventually becomes the team's 6th man and Lamb starts ... not because Lamb is better, but because you can sub Batum in for SG, SF, or PF depending on the matchups or foul trouble. The main thing that worries me is Cliff's stubbornness and his fondness for 5 in - 5 out rotations form last year.

Batum would have to be playing the worst ball of his career to lose his job to Lamb. As long as Batum is healthy and not having a Lance Stephenson type bad year he will and should start.

I think PJ will play over Lamb unless Lamb is clearly doing better.

we drafted PJ so we should use him, also keeps Lamb's value low so if we want to keep him it will be easier (if he RFA after the season right?)
