Re: ESPN NBA Rank 2015
Having Batum and MKG and Kemba all ranked within 8 spots seems odd. Like the Lin, Vonleh, Kaminsky trio bunched in 9. Or lance and Cody by 2. Or Lamb and Hansbrough by 2.

#272 Spencer Hawes (last year #129) Double OUCH!
#224 Marvin Williams (last year #212)
#197 Jeremy Lin (last year #100) Get used to it Lin fans, perception of Hornets players by media is terrible.
#188 Frank Kaminsky
#151 Cody Zeller (last year #203)
#79 Kemba Walker (last year #61)
#77 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (last year #131)
#71 Nic Batum (last year #52)
#50 Al Jefferson (last year #22)
The most egregious ratings - Hawes, Lamb and Lin. All 3 guys getting severely punished for being in a bad situation last year.

as bad a situation as Lin was in lakers last season, Lin was pretty efficient, particularly after the all-star break...
Lin's advanced stats (espn's) were pretty good, ranked No. 81, 78 on real +/-, war respectively... both No. 1 among last year's lakers...No.2 lakers were not even close, check out other lakers...

I guess those espn voters don't even look at their own statistics...
Hi Clutchie, I love you...

Re: ESPN NBA Rank 2015
I am not a fan of their real plus/minus stat. I would rather go by "true" plus/minus, or "true" plus/minus per 36 for bench players. Now, how could Cody Zeller be #151 on their list and #21 on this chart? It's a huge discrepancy. Then there is Hansbrough at #62 and not even in their top 300 players. The whole idea of listing players like this is ridiculous to begin with, and the results are predictably risible.

Re: ESPN NBA Rank 2015
Just to elaborate on that comment, here are the top players from last season in "true" plus/minus stats. I think most would agree these are among the top players in the league, except perhaps for Iguodala:
Andre Iguodala, Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Blake Griffin, David Lee, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Manu Ginobili, DeAndre Jordan, Kawhi Leonard
Obviously, there is some overlap, and there are significant differences. James Harden and LeBron James do not show up until a few spots later, for example.
