It'd be nice if he signs an extension. Hope they get it done.

He might want to become FA and get more money tho.

Others may have answered this elsewhere, but can we offer/extend Batum now?

We apparently approached him about it around the time of the MKG and Lamb extensions. Though, unlike theirs - which had to be done by early November - Batum can be extended at any time up to July.

The problem, though, is that we can only offer Batum an amount based on his current salary. His starting amount would be $12,750,306.25 in year 1, whereas if he waits until free agency he's looking at a max around $27M.

Thanks for the information, so in other words there's no way we're extending him before FA hits. If we keep playing like this with Nic putting up triple doubles in the process I don't think we'll have much to worry about. The question is what the market is going to set his price at and whether or not he'll be willing to take a little less.

Is it just me or MJ is becoming more active on this team, almost Mark Cuban-like? :) That's great to see him so excited and involved.

Why not?

I'm fine with that as long as he won't whine or bitch like Cuban does.

Lol, guess you have a point if he goes into coaching mode. But still good to see him all excited with the players.
