He actually had some really solid moments tonight.

Caught a break with that goaltending call.

OTOH, I think Lin headbutted Deng after the foul was already called on Deng

Dwyane Wade's last made 3-pointer was Dec. 16.

lulz

Wow, that wasn't a good shot they got.

Again, seriously absurd they got such a good player for so little.

i have a bad feeling though, Cody probably is suffering a meniscus tear... probably will miss some time...

Oh, full circle. If this is the case, Al would be the starting center again and Cody resurrecting the Bench Force One if he only misses a little bit.

Ultimately, besides Al's D, I think it's for the best.

jtsmith wrote:I wonder if the result would've been the same if Cody didn't get hurt and played after halftime

Al's probably less tired than every starter. Could've made a difference.

Thanks! I was actually driving home from Chapel Hill and missed the game, except for periodic updates from the wife. It looks like Tyler held his own against Whiteside for the few minutes he was in there. I did have the Tar Heels on the radio, though.

NP! He definitely contributed.

He couldn't block Whiteside's shot but he blocked Whiteside's head, maybe messed him up a bit. ~lol~

Yes, Batum usually gives us 23CP per game - he was playing this game at 19CP (so yeah under HIS average) - the average you see is the player's average over all the other games he had played (and not some magical average of all the other players).

It's not easy to compare player A to player B - it's simpler to track if the same player is playing above, at or below his usual ability.

Although Batum played below his average - he was still the 3rd most contributing player on our team - so I voted him for bronze at the hammers.
Stability is a myth perpetuated by the agents called homeostasis and status quo....

DWade is a FA, right? MIA needs to decide if they're going to let him have a Kobe Bryant season next season, because his game has really fallen off. He can't be a primary offensive weapon for them next season.

I don't think Wade is done, he's just going through a bad stretch. He's different than Kobe. He's not going to be a chucker, he'll play a different game. He's always been more efficient. No, he's not the primary offensive weapon anymore, he's now the veteran and he's not Flash, but still a HOF player and leader and he's now going to get the younger guys to play the game with force.

In his post-game interview he said a lot of good things about Charlotte. That we are a good defensive team, made shots last night that were Golden State like, that we're playing well, JLin hit big free throws. I'll take respect for the team from Wade.

I agree that he's not Kobe bad, but DWade is posting a career low FG% while also shooting the highest number of FGAs on their team. He's also turning 35 next season so I don't see his production or efficiency increasing. MIA has a decision to make this offseason, because DWade is likely going to ask them to pay him way more than he is worth.

They do. But a great vet like that is a value if he can accept a decreasing role. It's hard for a former great player to accept his new status and take less money and he's been the face of the Heat a long time, but he's an old player now with a lot of mileage on him.

True, but that was Kobe and he expected loyalty payments so he could cash out before riding off into the sunset. DWade accepted less money to accommodate the big 3, and it seems like he's poised to demand big dollars to compensate for that before he retires. Thus the one year $20M deal he is on now.

Some insight on the Heat:

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-heat/sfl-miami-heat-joe-johnson-s031816-story.html

"Style of play was probably the biggest difference," JJ said. "They told me they wanted to get up and down the floor and run, and I mean it enticed me. I thought it was the best fit."

Crazy old man!
Spo: "Our defense, overall, there's been times when it's good as it's ever been. And then there might be a two-minute lapse coupled with two or three turnovers and all of a sudden now the double-digit lead becomes a game."

Quite right.

"I haven't been into the best rhythm since the All-Star break that I've want to be in," Wade said. "I've had some good games scoring, but I haven't been into a great rhythm. And then I was off for 14 days, so still trying to play catch-up to that."

Wade ascribes his problems to rhythm.

"Right now, if you look to three to seven it's moving daily," LeBron James said of tracking his team's potential playoff bracket.

Wonder which team he wants to face.
