I think before the game was almost out of reach, Wade was 3 of 9, Lin did a great job on him. I think he repaid Coach's trust in him handsomely. I tend to agree with:

Wade probably deserves a lot of credit for that because of his nifty moves.

That's impressive, a lot of credit to Cliff; didn't give them chance for fastbreaks.

The Heat just missed more shots than usual, and some Hornets just made more (Marv and Frank in particular), probably attributable to confidence/lack of confidence from HCA/no HCA.

I have a feeling that once the series goes back to MIA, Frank won't be hitting his postup shots.

No kidding, huge difference, both teams.

Let's hope Frank actually is growing by each game (or half?).

Them not having a backup PG could be huge, should try to get him into foul trouble every game.

Tracking Players Performances (their GCP/their season average)

Playing above their average:
Lin (27/17), Williams (27/20), Zeller (18/16),Kaminsky (25/12), Jefferson (23/20)

Playing around their average (+/- 1):

Playing below their average:
Walker (17/28), Lamb (0/14), Daniels (1/7), Harrison (0/2), Hansbrough (0/4), Hawes (4/11), Lee (9/14), Gutierrez (1/3)

Overall the team intensity has gone up from G1 to G2 to G3. Let's hope they hold this intensity and even the series come Monday.

Memo to Cliff, we don't need to chuck up a gang of threes to win, we have bigs with scoring ability inside, Miami doesn't. AL gave Whiteside fits, Frank is too big for the heat forwards inside, Kemba has Dragic completely rattled and the Heat are not a great half court team due to a lack of a inside presence. This could be a 7 game series if Miami loses game 4 they are in real trouble.
Frank, Lin and Marv gotta keep it up tho.

Frank is 7ft tall, Winslow is 6'6 Deng is 6'7 or 6'8 they are gonna get abused inside wherever we play if Cliff listens to Jordan and Ewing. Going big and playing inside out is the key this series.

Great! I guess we'll win out the rest of the way with a heavy dose of postups.

@ChokeFasncists I think Lin is "serviceable"guarding wade, its just that Lee earns his $ on that end, he's an elite on ball defender. One possession to decide the game, i think most hornets fans would put Lee on wade.

having said that, lin guarding wade well is instrumental in CHA swinging this series, they'll share the court for a lot of time. Lin and hawes/frank playing well off the pine unlocks everything for CHA , imo.

Wade is a superstar. He can facilitate as well as score and is strong and weighs 220 to Lee/Lin's 200. Lee and Lin had their issues and it seems Lin didn't do so well on some post-ups but they had better ball denial in the last game. Wade cooled off some and didn't have his best game yesterday as did some of his teammates.

Lee is a workhorse. He can play defense with great intensity for 40 minutes a game. On offense, he'll get some buckets and keep the ball moving. Lin is the aggressive dynamic difference maker on offense and hustler on team-defense. Rebounds well for his size as well.

We have our mojo back. Spo will adjust so next game will be different. Just want a W however it works out.

Even at his current stage Wade is a lethal scorer when he has his legs, so you want him to back you down on post-ups, shoot fade-aways, run around screens and from side to side to get open, contest every shot and really attack him on defense. He recovers slower than Kemba, Lee or Lin and if they can keep wearing him down I bet it will start showing after game 5. I remember 2 years ago he was so tired he dribbled the ball off his leg on a crucial possession. Without plan A = MKG it's unreasonable to think any of the guards can actually contain him, so on to plan B the long game. Go Hornets! :banghead:

Well, the thing is, if Lin guards Wade fine, then Lee could be guarding another good/bigger wing like JJ or Deng.

Wade was 11/22 with 28 points in game two with Lee guarding him the majority of the time. I don't think Lin would do worse; he guarded him pretty well last time they met and is only gonna get better.

Agreed. Lin/Hawes/Cody makes a pretty good bench.
