The typical game of the 2016 season

Post#1 » by Hedda Gambler » Sat Apr 23, 2016 12:49 pm

Morning all.

As the season is over for my own team, the Jazz, I am planning to use the next couple of months to get to know the 29 other teams in the league a bit better. I am going to watch at least 1 game from every team. To figure out what game to watch, I am asking for help from the fanbases of the other teams.

What I would like to watch, is the game you guys decide is the most typical game of this regular season. I am not looking for the best or the worst game, but the game that most accurately shows your teams strengths and weaknesses. If you are a good team, that would most likely mean it is a game you won, and if you are a bad team, it should be a loss.

Feel free to suggest any game of the season for me to watch. I appreciate all your help in my quest to get to know every team in the NBA a bit better.

I recommend the Mar 17 CHA at MIA game won by CHA 109-106

Why its representative:
1. Beat what most people consider to be a better team (remember, CHA won 23 games last yr) on the road
2. Came back from 15 down. Multiple times this season this team got way behind in Q1 then made a charge in Q4
3. Kemba leading scorer, clutch
4. Marvin Williams 4/5 from 3, he gave a quintessential stretch 4 performance for much of this season
5. Team 13/26 50% from 3, the offense this season totally revamped to emphasize the 3ball
6. Batum with 7 assists, his playmaking has been a joy to watch, to the point we named his thread L'Artiste
7. Al Jefferson feasting on second stringers - Al lost his starting spot due to injury, when he came back he simply kept quiet and scored off the bench
8.Cody Zeller, running non-stop, offense to defense, one end of the court to the other - look it up, Cody's run further than any player in the NBA this yr
9. Jeremy Lin highlighting his inconsistency with one of his maddeningly ineffective nights
9. Courtney Lee being solid, professional, both ends of the floor
10. Frank Kaminsky showing a glimpse of what he might be
11. Troy Daniels nailing a 3
12. Tyler Hansbrough making a Psycho T cameo
13. Jeremy Lamb DNP with an injured toe/or maybe just in Clifford's doghouse, also sort of representative of his not-quite-there season

Conclusion: signature win of March, when CHA won 13 games for the month, giving them the 3rd most wins in NBA since All-Star game, behind only GS & SA

BTW not a typical game for CHA this year because MKG only played in 7, but if you want to get a feel for this team going forward, you should watch one of the games MKG played in. The 1/31 beat down of LAL MKG had 19/12 if you want to watch pure fun. If you'd rather watch against legit competition, go for the 2/3 win over full power CLE, a game CHA won without Kemba Walker. Casual fans don't realize the impact MKG has on this team winning. They're gonna see next year.
