We're like 11 injuries away from being title favorites by my estimation

Sound like LeBron's luck.

Lin and Kemba scored all of the field goals in the 4th and 22 of the 24 points. First Lin 11, then Kemba 11, then Courtney Lee's 2 FTs.

yeah, I didn't like the mid-range pull-up looks he was taking against the HEat defense.

Agreed, that Batum isn't a great fit for this series the way our team is constructed, although I think having MKG would help give us more flexibility. But fair point that a max player should have a major impact in any series. But, Batum is a max player whether we pay him or not. I believe we're better with him than w/out him, over the long haul. When healthy, Batum takes us to another level on offense.

Not to mention that Courtney Lee is playing 42 minutes per game since Batum went out. Whether Batum is playing to his capabilities or not, we need an above replacement level wing who can allow Lee to rest some.

Sounds like a movie script!

I'm just so proud of this team for fighting back after going down 0-2 and losing Batum. Most everyone was ready to count us out and just assume we'd get swept or at best lose in 5 games. [suck it Bonnell]. I'd be lying if I didnt think the same thing after after that 2nd game.

Not everyone ;)

No way they were going to stay THAT hot from the field for the entire series.

No way we were going to move completely away from our identity for the entire series.

We have the absolute momentum, energy and swagger in this series.

We'll close this out at home after winner tomorrow night.

It's late for this but I wanted to give props to Big Al for the effort on D here. Check out that lateral quickness!

I meant to say this earlier, but I think Al has set more solid screens in the past 2 games than he has in the past 3 years.

Yep, you're right.

The nba is keeping track of new stats for this years playoffs called hustle stats which includes screen assists ( screens that lead directly to made field goals). Al along with Cody is leading the team with 3.8 screen assists per game which ties them for third most in the league.

Another interesting one is contested shots. Lee almost has twice as many as anyone else on the team.

I like that contested shot stat. It's been fun watching Lee go at it on defense in this series. I'd love to see Lee and MKG out there at the same time smothering folks, so I really hope we resign him.

What if you defend the guy so well by denying them the ball, that they cannot even shoot so there is no "contested shot" to record as a hustle stat? Or a guy like Kemba has large number of contested 3ptrs but since he is so short they just shoot over him and it is not really a contested shot. The hustle stats are nice but it does not tell the whole story either. I like the Sportsvu stats that show a shooters effective shooting percentage when defended by Player A vs their normal overall shooting percentage - this shows how effective a defender is.
