The effort was there, the shooting was crap again. Going for the dunk instead of trying a weak lay up would seriously help the shooting percentage and the scoring though... Painful to see the kind of shots at the rim they missed.

Well **** that was frustrating. The Kemba void when IT went to town in the 4th was striking. Would have been cool if Marco didn't go out of his way to piss BOS off, even though I don't think that was close to a flagrant.

Robo-rotations.

It's almost like Clifford would have a heart attack if Batum and Lamb were on the court at the same time

Think it's more that Batum controls the ball when he's on the floor and Lamb is a terrible C&S perimeter guy currently shooting 24% from three (26% on C&S 3s, worse than Frank at 32%). Cliff can't resist the shiny new 44% 3PT shooting (47% on C&S 3's) non-ball dominant wing to play Lamb over him but unless he wants Marco or Batum at PG he also needs a PG on the floor shifting Lamb to PF. Random aside, but let's take a moment to point out that Kemba is shooting 49% on C&S threes. Holy f.

Not to deflect credit too much, but I don't think Cliff really should get much credit for going small, Cody and Hawes were in foul trouble and BOS went small anyway so he just matched them.

On the bright side for as long as Cliff has been here I feel like every december we have a losing streak that feels awful and like the season is over but is always forgotten by an amazing run in the spring. Except for 2014-15 I guess

I do think we needed Lamb down the stretch. Batum couldn't buy a basket in the 4th and Bradley shut down Belinelli, he wasn't going to generate enough offense to keep us in the game with Bradley on him and no real other alternative to generate offense.

Without Kemba we had no guys that could ISO there ways to buckets and that's what we needed.

Can't decide whether I feel like Cody had a good game. Sessions was very nice until crunch time when his out of placeness shine through.

Wow we shot 32% from the field. Yuck. 38 total points in the second half.

Interesting DNP for Hibbert tonight. Just due to matchup with BOS mobile bigs or shift to Hawes? Hawes didn't exactly buy any favor tonight, but our D wasn't the problem.

Announcers said it was just because Hawes was a better match up with Horford.

On a night where we needed players to step up, so many failed. MKG, Cody, Frank, Marco and Spencer all basically invisible tonight, minus a couple of good minutes from Marco.

Batum tried to be the lead dog and did an OK job for 3/4 of the game only to be badly exposed in the 4th. Sadly, that's just not who he is as a player.

Was somewhat refreshing to see that short stretch in 2nd when Rainmain decided to go small and give Lamb some of the extra minutes he deserves. He should have repeated in the 2nd half. Not sure it would have mattered.

2nd game in a row we've allowed an opposing center to completely take over a game in the 3rd. Cody has to take some blame. He wasn't good enough tonight.

Really getting frustrated with MKG, like the rest of you. I'm really starting to lose hope. Hornets social media and coaches built him up all summer. We were duped. I'm coming around on the idea of trading MKG for a scorer, even if his value is near rock bottom. He still have a very tradeable contract. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery? I dunno. It breaks my heart to even think about trading him, but he's one of our best trade chips and if we want to find another legit offensive weapon, we'll probably have to part with MKG. What kind of package with MKG would we need to put together to land Wilson Chandler and Gary Harris from Denver?

Enjoy being above .500 for 18 more hours. Might be last time we're here for a while.

Even if the Hornets lose tonight, I believe they have a very good chance to win the next 6. Tough schedule with a banged up team and not a lot of days off. Still they can't afford to lose Kemba, because the backup point guard position is just so bad. Raymond Felton would have been a godsend over Sessions. This needs to be addressed in the offseason.

All looked good in the first half. 3Q, well, at least I think it was within two or tied at quarter's end. Then 4Q things went south. If MB isn't making his shots, with no Kemba, there's no win. Sessions was pretty good this game, but he needed to really good or great to win.

MKG, I think he'll struggle but really, don't give up. He's what, 23? It's possible real improvement will show post-ASG once he has a few months of game-to-game play under his belt. I hope so. I vote to stick with him.

Even if the team slips under .500, they know they can get back above it and get to the playoffs as most of the major players on the team did so last season. It's relatively early in the game.
