Strategically this team made the wrong moves...again. They trade for a flawed expensive big in Plumlee who contributed nothing, hurts our cap space forward and forced the effort to not tank to justify the decision. The "we don't tank" mentality from MJ and coaches is understandably real, but with plenty of injuries the opportunity was presented to take advantage as a strategic choice and they refused. Could have easily evaluated/developed the youngsters during this time while positioning us for a higher pick.

Perpetually average is our near term expectation.

It is clear that as long as attendance is in the black then MJ is happy. There is no other explanation.

Just think about Blazers, they once have Lillard, Metthews, Batum, Aldridge and Lopez together and never going far in the playoffs. We have Kemba and Batum as two of our best player is not going to do any better than that.

Agreed. You don't have to be a fan of tanking to acknowledge that after the loss to Indiana in mid March that our highest EV (estimated value) move was tanking out the rest of this season. You could argue that was the case even before that loss, but I think that is the point where it became certain.

Five more losses and we'd have the 7th pick. Now that the fantasy of us sneaking into the playoffs and upsetting Boston is out of the picture, I don't see how anyone could still be satisfied with our decision to playoff chase. It shouldn't even be referred to as a "decision" since the possibility of tanking was likely never even considered.
