Couldn't find a thread on him, but he was just fired or "released" from his contract with UNCC. Would like to have him back.

Confirming he's a crap head coach but he did a solid job with mkgs jumper for a brief time.

I wonder if he could help give monk a clue

I don't know, I mean it should be pretty hard to get fired from coaching the Charlotte 49ers mid season right? It's not like expectations are really high there.
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Was gonna ask if anyone is familiar with the state of the program and athletics department. I don't follow them at all.

Basically everything is miserable to follow. 100 times worse than the current state of the Hornets. Price came into a tough situation with the massive amount guys that transferred out right before he was hired, but the team never progressed and made you think "alright we have something to work with here." We've lost games to teams with a lot less talent and resources than what we have. Attendance has declined more and more each year and all around the program has fallen off a cliff. His first seasons "success", a 14-19 record, was entirely attributed to having Joseph Uchebo getting every offensive rebound ever against smaller C-USA centers.

I think the college game was just a bad fit for him. He didn't do the best job at acquiring talented players to fit his system. We never really ran a structured offense, more of the free flowing drive and kick style that's more prevalent in the NBA. Thing is we didn't have the talent to make it work, which lead to lots of easy transition baskets for opposing teams. I never once saw us play any semblance of defense under Price either, it was just a really painful process to watch from start to finish.

No doubt he wasn't fit for the job, but I would say this was more of a knee-jerk reaction from our AD Judy Rose, who has been feeling the heat lately with lots of students and alumni campaigning for her resignation. For whatever reason we kept our football head coach coming off a 1-11 season and fired Price 9 games into the season :banghead: Here's to hoping we build a brothel on campus and throw a big contract at Rick Pitino :D
