Hindsight being 20/20 we can sit here and bull all day and night about what "could have been" all 5 years ago but we can't. I suppose it's in our nature to look back at things and dwell on **** that happened years ago instead focusing on the NOW.

Why sports fans put SO MUCH into rookies in the first place is beyond me. I will only care about the potential of a 19 year old when it is my own child but sports athlete's have proven to be untrustworthy for years and years now so why do we fall into the same damn rut.

Take it from me, I'm probably the only remaining Adam Morrison fan and the dude had an amazing college career but a crappy professional one. It wasn't a lack of talent it was about finding your role or place on a team.

This topic should not be about lack of draft picks, it's about lack of good rosters.

My biggest problem is, say Charlotte got all or most of these picks right, would it have mattered since our ability to develop players seems beyond wretched? I fully believe that had Charlotte drafted Kawhi for example, his shooting wouldn't have gotten better and he'd occupy the shame corner just like MKG.

agreed, I would have loved to know how MKG's career might have gone at San Antonio. I think Pop's would have loved his motor

I like this post. I do think Cho could have drafted better but I actually think he did a decent job drafting.

Really? I don't agree a whole lot here.

I feel like a lot of times in recent years the Hornets have taken the player I viewed as the biggest reach in the lottery. I didn't expect to see many here with a good view on Cho.

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

Cho is terrible at drafting. He gets a pass from a lot of people here b/c A) Higgins was a much worse GM, B) it's not really clear if Cho is picking these guys outright or if there's meddling from coaches/ownership.

My biggest criticism of Cho's drafting is he never wheeled and dealed on draft day for multiple picks, could've sped up the rebuild immensely. He has a good reputation as being an active trader but not on draft day. He traded up for Biyombo and since then, snake bitten on draft day trades. Like when Vonleh fell to Charlotte, they didn't have any clue if they wanted the kid. Should've flipped him for somebody they actually scouted plus an asset.

The Hornets are my second favorite team and I live in Charlotte. I'm always hoping they'll do well and every year in the draft, I just get bummed for them. I was very low on Kaminsky and Monk, I was kinda happy the Hornets took them only because it meant the Pacers wouldn't, but I still wanted to see the Hornets do well too.

Trading is difficult though. I think every fan wants their team to wheel and deal on draft day. I agree it would have made sense to try and trade the Vonleh pick, but sometimes I think its just far more difficult than we realize.

He gets plaudits for turning water into wine (i.e. Warrick into McBob) but rarely gets criticized for bad trades. Take the bad with the good, that's all I'm saying. Tired of Cho "Trade Magician" narratives.
