Awesome feat considering that he’s still in his prime. Kemba has been a good player for the franchise but him becoming the all-time scoring leader succeeding Dell Curry who was a bench player says all you need to know about this franchise or maybe the city. Good things don’t seem to last long in Charlotte. Now I understand why a lot of the fans have a obsession for rigged role players while frowning upon potential and production. It’s tradition. I fully expect Kemba to get traded this offseason, by next season’s deadline, or to walk next offseason in free-agency.

Kemba has done everything humanly possible to make this club a winner. The GM failed miserably building a team around him. Fans didn't want to let any of those role players go.

We're in a bad situation.

Couldn't have happened to a better guy. I don't want to talk about an eventual parting of ways. Let's enjoy this.

Congratulations, Kemba!!! Very, very well-deserved. He's the best ambassador the Hornets have. He's also the best player we've ever had.

Kemba #1 all-time scorer in Hornets history

Post#7 » by TheKingofSting » Thu Mar 29, 2018 3:42 am

On 12-26-2011 I was with two friends at a Charlotte Bobcats season opener sitting in the nosebleed seats vs. the Bucks in a half empty arena when a young bright eyed kid checked into an NBA game for the first time and scored his first point of his pro career on a free throw. Tonight he is the ALL-TIME LEADING SCORER in Charlotte Hornets History! It all seems so surreal, I only wish I could have been there tonight. Salute to The Captain, Kemba Walker!

I'm so proud of Kemba as a fan. I watched him grow as a player each season ever since his freshman year at UConn. At that time I never expected him to even exceed Ben Gordon's legacy in Storrs. By his junior season at Connecticut after witnessing his incredible March Madness run into a NCAA Championship surrounded by unheralded freshmen (Lamb and Napier) he not only eclipsed my expectations but shattered them. I don't think there's a more decorated or remembered player from the Huskies program by the time he left

Next, Kemba declares for and enters his name in the NBA draft. All I wanted for Kemba was for him to land on a team that would give him the opportunity. All I knew was that I believed that Kemba could become a quality starting PG in the NBA. I wasn't thinking about possible All-Star selections or any of that. I probably would've projected his career numbers to be somewhere between 13-17 points per game at this time. Before I know it, after watching his first two seasons in Charlotte my expectations for what he could be grew because I saw the growth from his rookie year into his sophomore campaign, and when I measured the trajectory I started to think that his career could mimic at least that of Tony Parker with a solid foundation around him. Once again, Kemba broke the mold of my assumptions

When Kemba said "I'm not supposed to be here" it was beyond heartfelt from himself to everyone like myself that believed in him, because he's done nothing but exceed expectations from the very beginning and he'll continue to do so

Congratulations Kemba on the milestone achievement. I couldn't think of a player that's more deserving to hold this honor for the Charlotte franchise after everything

Gotta show my boy some love.

I was a fan as soon as we drafted him and he walked up crying. Even though he was labeled a chucker early, I never saw that in him and he’s improved more than any Hornets player I’ve ever watched. He deserves all the credit and is legit the best player in franchise history.

Wanna say too, just for fun that it’d have been really cool if Kemba and Crash’s careers would have coincided. My two favorite players. Watching them improve and help each other win together would have been a blast to watch.

Fantastic stuff from mr. Walker. I'm so glad we didn't trade him at the All-Star break. Now we just got to find a way to put some better players around him so that he can get some regular playoff action.

Kemba is our star and the only real one we’ve had since the glory pre-Bobcat days. Yes Wallace deserves love but there is only one Kemba.

I say if Kemba wants to remain here they need to sign him up. No certainty about the future for him or us in that scenario, but I’m starting to believe he’s willing to be a lifer here. He can certainly entertain us. I just hope Clifford is gone.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Lol @ the Knicks and Suns being on the list for his lofty playoff hopes. Same with the Cavs considering that LeBron is likely gone after this season.

Kemba has contributed the second-most, behind only Harden.

The Ringer is garbage these days, which is a shame because Grantland was actually pretty good while it lasted. Their NBA coverage is especially obnoxious outside of Kevin O'Connor, who aside from being a Celtics homer (with the obligatory 'Danny Ainge is a genius' and 'Boston is a future dynasty' assumptions in every article) is decent.
