I like Bamba, but in today's league it's all about wings so I voted for Porter.

I would be pretty nervous with the #5 pick in this draft because I really don't which direction to go. High enough that you feel the pressure of not missing on a top 5 pick, but not high enough to know you'll get a sure thing.

Zhaire Smith should probably get added next round. He's in the 4-10 range in several pre-combine mocks.

That said this is the point in the draft that I'm the least sure about. You could argue me into Porter, Bamba, Carter, Young or even one of the Bridges at this point. I'm going with porter, but not out of any really strong conviction.

It's too early for SGA & Sexton though.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Went with Mo Bamba because even if he doesn't work out, he's got an awesome name.

Where have you seen him even top 7?

I feel like all the mock drafts I've seen, he's been mocked 10-14. If anyone has risen in some mocks, it's Miles Bridges who I've seen all the way to 7 now. Zhaire may turn out to be a great player with the right coaching, but with this much talent in the top 10, I feel like the consensus is the earliest he could go is at #11 to us, and I don't see us taking him. He could slide.

The big media and what I consider 'mostly consensus' mocks all had him low. It's the math guys and some of the contrarians that had him higher. I think that his combine measurements will keep him in that 10+ range or even lower on draft day itself.

Dean Demakis most recent big board has him at 4, but it hasn't been updated that recently. Hes generally mocked 8-14 by most people. You could still argue adding him to the poll, though. Collin Sexton is on it and he shouldn't even go top 14.

I agree about Sexton, but he just feels like a PG that NYC would draft.

Yeah, I actually think he'll end up going in the lottery, but I don't think he should.

NY really wants a PG. Trae Young will likely go before 9 and they might think Shai and Ntilikina have too much overlap. I could totally seem them taking Sexton.

I think that Young might go as high as 3 to the Hawks. With some of Schroder's recent statements they might be thinking about a new long term PG sooner rather than later. SGA to the Magic also seems possible to me. If both of those guys go before NCY picks, I could see them rolling the dice on Sexton in a big way.

I wouldn't draft Bamba at 11. Seriously guys? Another no offense center? Is that what we need?

honestly have no idea what to make of him as I've barely seen him play at all, but all I want from my center offensively is good screening and PnR game. Is Bamba suited to play a Clint Capela role or is he clumsy like Bismack or Javale McGee?

If he slides all the way to #11, he's sliding for a good reason- he's closer to the Biz/JaVale end of the spectrum than the Capela end. In that case, let him slide, I'd be fine rolling with CZ/WH

There is also a report of him hitting 40/50 NBA threes in a recent workout. Shooting in an empty gym doesn't always translate obviously and he needs to speed the shot up some, but his mechanics are very nice and smooth. He projects to be a great lob target. Dude literally has a 7'10" wingspan and is mobile with nice functional athleticism (just not really explosive at all).

I voted Bamba, but you can definitely make a good argument for Porter over him if his back isn't an issue (you could argue him top 3 in that case). Bamba has way more upside than anyone remaining after Porter and maybe Trae Young.

His upside is like if Myles Turner and Gobert had a baby.
