If we trade Kemba I would assume we would have a player or two in the rising stars game. We will be heavily developing our youth at that point.

I love my HORNETS. Always have always will. I get scared at the thought that we lose this franchise.

Always gonna pull for the purple and teal, no matter what.

The Hornets are my hometown team (or at least the team of the big city next to my hometown) and I fell in love with the uniforms and logo early on. Once I went to a game at the old Coliseum and experienced "The Hive" at it's full-throated best in 91 I was hooked for life, the players and the fans had such an excellent connection. Of course that time has passed, but the memory remains relatively fresh. North Carolina is basketball country, and you don't pull for your team just because they're winners you pull for them because they're yours imo.

When the league took our team in 02 it was a terrible gut punch, just the worst feeling. In all honesty I didn't watch a single NBA game about for four years (Kobe's 06 barrage pulled me back) because without the Hornets the league wasn't relevant to me. When we got our 'real' team back in 2014 it was a wonderful feeling, I've never been more excited for an opening day than the night we played the Bucks as the Hornets again. To be honest I've gotten what I want, I got my team back. No amount of losing or stupidity will kill that appreciation, because I know not having the Hornets at all is truly the worst feeling. GMs, coaches and even owners will pass, but so long as the Charlotte Hornets exist I'll support.

One of the best things happened to Hornets was the Kemba-Lin combo which used to terrorize other teams. The team instead chose to offer close max to Batum and not a 10M plus contract and a starting spot for Lin.

Letting Batum walk was not an option. We paid him slightly less than what the Knicks and the Raptors were reportedly willing to offer him. We just got screwed by the cap spike. Our big mistake that summer was bringing back Marvin rather than using that cap space to retain Lin and get a better big than Hibbert.

Both contracts were a mistake. Hibbert was bad, lots of bad decisions.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I have been a Hornets fan since the started when I was in JR High
It sucks we don’t win consistently but that didn’t stop Chicago Cubs fans from staying loyal
Plus, if and when we do start winning it will be even sweeter

We had been trying to get a wing playmaker to pair with Kemba for years prior to that point. We smartly tried to steal Hayward away from Utah and when that failed we went for Lance. And when that turned out to be a miserable failure we moved Henderson and Vonleh to get Batum. There was no way we were going to let him walk after all that. We paid Nic what other teams were offering, i.e. the market rate, the cap spike that summer coupled with the cap not rising again like it was projected to (we can thank Durant for that) are why Batum's deal and many others from that summer are as crippling as they are.

I have been a fan since 88. Agonized when they moved. Rejoiced when they came back (even as Bbcats)
Rooted and talked myself into every draft pick and trade.
This just looks like more of the same. We want to be competitive but don't want to pay tax- this is understandable. But I don't ever feel like we have a plan. I guess we are looking to put same team on floor this year, maybe move off of lamb and hope someone develops. Best case 40 win team. Probable scenario 35 wins. Kemba either walks for nothing or maybe a lower pick, or he resigns for 40 mill a year and we stay the same. I miss the days of Bob Bass- he didn't have a lot to work with but I felt like we won most trades and made solid picks.

We are completely irrelevant as a franchise. Not as big a mockery as KIngs (but at least they had the cwebb teams)

I'm not a championship or bust guy- I would love a consistent 50 win team maybe you get lucky and make conference finals but we struggle to make bottom rung of playoff ladder in a weak conference. I loved the team few seasons back with lin and lee. just really fun team to watch. Now not sure other than Monk what possibilities are there to make a decent jump

Frustrating.
