Re: Miles Bridges - Forward - 6'7" 220 - Michigan State
I think that Miles has tons of potential. I also think that it's mistaken to think that the team can really afford to miss on another lottery pick. Over the years the Hornets have alternated between safe picks and high risk ones, and I don't have a good sense of what Mitch will do, so who knows.
I strongly feel that Miles would be one of the best picks the Hornets could make, both in the short run and in the long. He has so many things going for him in terms of modern NBA team fit, and in terms of fit with the existing group.

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I definitely see the appeal. Its very easy to imagine him becoming a very good player. Its also pretty easy to imagine him busting pretty hard. I just can't get a good feel for him as a prospect. There are more than usual in this draft that are like that for me.

It will be looked at as a huge blow to the franchise 4 years from now when fans recall how some team picking one slot ahead scooped up Miles Bridges. It could be a blow that compares to Kaminsky over Devin Booker.

Still one of my top picks for where the team is drafting.
Not willing to get too excited about any of these guys though. Feel like the odds of trading the pick are still too high ... and uncertainty about how the draft order will actually shake out this year keep me thinking that someone will drop.

This dude will be Derrick Williams 2. Him and Sexton are the only two guys I really wanna stay away from. Im glad to see he has lost weight, but still, he is a tweener in todays NBA. Unless he becomes a elite shooter, I cant see him playing a big role for a good team.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Miles Bridges - Forward - 6'7" 220 - Michigan State
I posted this in the college prospects thread but it's probably better suited here, I think if you are on board with Miles comes down to if you believe Izzo misused him at Michigan State. They already had JJJ and Nick Ward in the post and with Miles' tank like body I think he has more to offer in the post. I believe if you hypothetically put Miles on North Carolina's team last season then he'd be a higher pick, I know Roy Williams gets accused of misusing talent but not post players and in this new no true position NBA Golden State started I think Miles has more to offer in the post that you wouldn't know unless you worked him out. I get the feeling he's truly a hybrid MKG and Julius Randle.

I would not be upset at all if we selected Miles on draft day. I just would personally rather trade the pick or draft Mikal instead but I would rather draft Miles than Knox or sga or sexton or young or porter

Miles seems like this year's guy who is being underrated because he went back to school to get fundamentally better. I just feel like unless trades are made there is no PT for him behind Frank, Marv, MKG etc. With cap maxed and few desirable trade options this year more than other years seems time to draft for fit - PG depth being an obvious need - positional need is the primary reason I'm not drafting Miles this year

That's unlike you. Every year you seem to have an eye for a value pick, Brogdon, Mitchell...
Miles is the top bargain in the lotto. Maybe the team trades Kaminsky and gives MKG some minutes at PF. Miles can back up SF and PF ahead of MKG.

True, I'm plumping SGA this year cuz the backcourt fit with Kemba & Monk seems so perfect but if SGA off the board or I knew trades were coming I'm happy with Miles

Go BPA like you usually do. Don't sell out for fit on me.

Well. I don't hate the pick. It would appear we are going to take this one year at a time and try to be competitive this season. Unfortunately we passed on a guy with enormous potential in Porter.
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Ya know, I wasn't super high on Miles last year, but I obviously have come around this off-season. But after watching these highlights again...I love this guy. I stand by that if he was 2 inches taller he'd be a presumed star. IMO his explosion and quick jump mostly neutralize his height disadvantage. He's just about the perfect small ball 4 in todays game with the versatility to play with pretty much any of our wings/PFs. Plus we needed a lob target after getting rid of Dwight
