he should, but he wont.

Why? For failing to make a deal at the deadline?

Mitch wont get fired, if anything MJ will regret not firing Cho sooner.

Mitch screwed the dwight trade, but all the other moves are still on cho. nic contract, marvin contract and too a lesser extent cody contract and not caring about the 2nd round (cheap depth, but mostly MJ's fault on this probably). Marco trade was terrible. I wont fault cho for the original Dwight trade, as it made sense at the time.

I'm pretty down that the team made not a single move. Unless Malik Monk turns into the second coming of George "Iceman" Gervin, the Hornets are cooked and done for this season. And afterwards, will Kemba walk away?

People I know in the Triangle area don't care about the NBA at *all*. They're all about ACC basketball. They actively dislike pro ball.

I have friends in Raleigh that I visit periodically, and they still get a physical newspaper. The Hornets can be in the middle of a playoff series, and you can hardly even tell from that sports page. A Tar Heel guy having a blister on his pinky toe would be a bigger story.

for not reading the tea leaves or not convincing mj to let him trade kemba rather than losing him for nothing. im still 70% of the belief that trading kemba was the smart move.

It really would only have been the smart move if we got something in return that could jumpstart the rebuild and add flexibility. Like we almost got Colin Sexton for Kemba. You can’t convince me that would’ve been a positive thing for us unless it led to landing Zion in the next draft.

I think one has to look at what Boston did.

Alex abrines got waived, he has missed time with a personal issue but he is better than Bacon.

Also waived was Indiana’s Ike Anigbogu, he is a young athletic center that might be worth signing.

Having chilled out a bit since the deadline, I'm slightly less annoyed. The best thing that Mitch has done so far is accumulate and use draft assets, and I appreciate that he values our picks more than Cho seemed to. We probably could have thrown seconds around like Cho did and made something happen at the deadline. If Kemba stays and Mitch finds more productive players in the second round rather than using those seconds on rentals at the deadline (or even worse selling them), then holding on to our draft assets could prove to be a very shrewd move.

It all depends on what Kemba does though.

I think they saw how easy and cheap it was to dump salary and could get off of Batum’s contract at the draft for pick 15 or 16. At least I hope. I’ll be disappointed if we still have Batum on our roster after the draft and did nothing to improve at the deadline. We all know we’re just playing for playoff revenue but it was no excuse to not scrape up some salary to get Markieff.

Anigbogu is still just 20 years old. 6’10” with 7’6.25” wingspan. He is a physical freak and just got released, we have open roster spot. He can’t be worse than Frank.
