If Kanter is no longer a public figure I'd be afraid if I were him. If he can't get another NBA contract or some other higher profile job I'd run to Canada.

I have family in northern Alberta and no one lives there. He could easily disappear in one of Canada's remote northern provinces.

Wouldn't have thought him an option, but then I didn't think we'd claim Mack either.

Interesting, wonder if he would've picked us over TOR. TOR has PG depth too so not sure either is all that attractive from an available PT perspective.

Would’ve took Stauskas over Mack tbh.

Should be some good comedy when the Toronto fans clash with the Lin fans.

Who cares about fans anyway. Lin would have been a major upgrade, i can't believe Hornets FO could not try to do something to bring him back. Or trade for him since he was obviously available after all.

The Raptors are going all in to get to the Finals. I'm not surprised that Jeremy Lin wants to play there.

Masai is taking a lot of risk though, if Kawai Leonard walks their roster will have been gutted. They won't have much cap space to replace him and they'll be relying on an aging core of Lowry and Gasol to carry them offensively. And in addition to that they'll have little depth to ride out inevitable injuries. They could have a big drop next season depending on what happens this summer.

The Lin fans invading the Raptors board will probably lead to the RealGM Apocalypse

Same here. Major oversight. Lin is actually playing well, which is saying something, considering how bad the Hawks are this year.

The Hawks aren't that bad actually. We have the best player in Kemba, but the Hawks have the better 2-7. If you swapped Kemba and Trae Young, the Hawks would have 35 wins already.

Is Kanter still available...? Any chance we grab him? He's like a much better version of WHG

Delon Wright traded and Van Vleet torn thumb ligaments = significant PT on a winner

of course I would prefer Lin to Mack; would love to have Lin back
but suspect Lin preferred an opp to chase a ring

Damnit. Lin could have been the upgrade we needed at backup PG.

He also likely gets more International exposure playing in Toronto, where there is a much larger percentage of Asians compared to Charlotte. That's going to help him score marketing deals overseas, especially if he gets minutes in an important playoff series.

Fact is, a lot of these decisions come down to money for these guys. No one is going to choose Charlotte for it's 'small town charm' if it means sacrificing a lot of fame and dollars. It's why it will always be difficult for this team to compete with the heavyweights unless we draft a generational type player.
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs
