We need high-end scoring with a top pick. Also free agent answers to center seem more feasible vs. scorers. Drummond and Adams are coming up. WCS may come up.

Exactly, unless you're a Towns, Porzingis, or Embiid type big it's better to use free agency or the trade market to address the center position.

Spencer Hawes, Roy Hibbert, Miles Plumlee, Dwight Howard, Bismack Biyombo

That's what you get trying to grab a guy in free agency.

Could we get Adams? Possibly, but I think there are other teams that will pay more.

Wiseman just needs to work on his range, but his ability at the rim is already evident. Will be an excellent lob man, catches and dunks without the need to gather. Excellent shot blocker that will be needed to guard against guys like Embiid and Giannis.

He gives me Austin Rivers vibes. I hope he proves me wrong and makes his teammates better instead of playing selfish, hero ball.

In the couple of games that I’ve watched him play, that’s actually a really good comparison and it’s not just because they look somewhat alike, they are supposedly point guards but are really scoring guards with no discernible point guard skills.

Ayton too. Wiseman is the real deal though, I’ve seen him play a few times and he is legit.

I’m not that big in Ayton. A bit to robotic and immobile for a modern big imo. I’m sure he will be a good player, just not a very winning one. I actually prefer bigs like John Collins and Bagley cause they are much more mobile and versatile. If Wiseman is more of the mold of an Ayton, I would probably pass on him for Edwards or Hampton, but if he ends up look like a Bagley or even an Anthony Davis, I would be all on. I have just become fairly iffy on valuing bigs over wing players in today’s era
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Heat - Cavs - Warriors - Raptors. None of the recent champions paid lotto pricetags for a center.

This year the Warriors have WCS on a vet minimum. Lakers have Cousins on a gimpy heel. Raptors got Gasol cheaply in a trade. Clippers got their guy late in the draft.

I'll give you your point, but Gasol is good and was big part of the reason that the Raps were even in a position to win it all.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

We can get a project big in the late first, early 2nd.

One guy to keep an eye on is Kai Jones. He's super skinny, but Texas has a great track record with bigs. He moves like a wing and has good perimeter skills, but he's nowhere near physically developed enough to play big minutes in the NBA.

Yeah...Imagine if the Hornets can get Payton, that would be a great pair, and hair Jordan would be delighted

Btw there s also a serbian prospect (combo guard, with great court vision and IQ) named Trifunovic who is notorious as well for this.

Looking ahead beyond this draft the 2021 class looks historically good. And we will likely bottom out and be even worse that season so one of those guys will end up in Charlotte. The next few years won't be fun, but with Mitch in charge of the draft I'm confident we'll come out of this with more talent than the team did the last time it rebuilt.

MJ needs to hire a cap and salary negotiation expert though to help Mitch because I'm not as confident about his ability in that area.

There are a few Centers I would "consider" in this draft but doubt I would take over a guard or forward. These are the Centers

Will Baker
Neemias Queta
Charles Bassey
Ikey Obiagu
Javin DeLaurier
Jericho Sims
Kerry Blackshear Jr.

Out of them I like Queta, Baker and Obiagu the most. WIth Obiagu he needs to add an offensive game. Will Baker could be a possibility tho

These are my top five for who I want with pick #1 in order

So Apparently Edwards at the age of 17 has a 42 inch vertical and at the end of a full workout he can bike half a mile in 50 seconds.

Wtf...

I want Anthony Edwards so bad but the lotto gods hates us so I’m prepared to be disappointed. Also prepared for Terry to win some close games and cause us lottery odds and watch the team a half a game behind us win the lottery. I have no faith in us getting the #1 pick, hell a top 4 pick.

The Stepien guys love Cole Anthony, they compare his ability to draw free throws and pull up on a dime to Curry, Lillard, and Kyrie. The author in the below article makes a good case that by the end of the college season he may be the consensus top pick.

https://www.thestepien.com/2019/07/23/draft-notes-cole-anthony-future-consensus-1-pick/

It's hard to imagine with Cole being both a New Yorker and a Tar Heel that both Mitch and MJ won't fall in love with him if he produces this year.

I can see that. I think his stock is going to really rise this year. I’ve seen him mocked in the mid 20’s so far. With Horton-Tucker, Shayok, and Wigginton gone, Tyrese will be the 1st option. I thought he was their best player last season. With his size and length the sky’s the limit.

Looks like Lamelo Ball is going to get all the hype this year similar to Zion last year. Some of YouTube highlight videos are getting 1 mil+ views. I think he'll be better than Lonzo, but don't like him playing for us because I think he'll bolt to a big market the moment he can. Hopefully MJ understands this and doesn't buy into the hype. The fact we signed Rozier to a 3 year contract should hopefully mean we aren't going to be looking to add a PG in the draft next year.

Lamelo very easily could become an All-Star. A guard his size and with his superior passing is very rare. If he doesn't let the fame get to his head, my money is on him becoming one.
