Re: GT: Boston vs Charlotte
that 3rd quarter close out is basically why devonte's struggling lol. he's gotta move away from the shoot first mindset while defenders are just sitting on him now

How many times did we allow a Boston to strip the ball from us by keeping the ball down low and loose rather than protecting it?
Frustrating.
So is JB’s insistence of going small for stretches (without Biz or Cody Z on the floor) even though the opposing team has a line up with a thumping C on the floor (this time it was Kanters’ turn) and with us playing from behind.
It just allows opposing players like Kanter to dominate for small stretches of time.

Crazy that this is us at full strength. Need to trade Marv before he has no value.
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Re: GT: Boston vs Charlotte
Actually made it to this game. Some thoughts
Building was pretty full. It was nice to see such a big turnout even if there were way too many Boston fans in the lower level.
The comment about Monk's shot being really flat in one of the previous game threads was 100% spot on. It rimmed out more than once this game. Really reduces his margin of error when taking that.
Kemba arguing with the refs while the Hornets sprinted down court and the rest of the Celtics got back ... I don't miss that at all. It was fun seeing Kemba play though. He made the shots here that he always makes.
Boston really took Devonte out of the game.
The play where Smart took a running leap at PJ and wrapped his head/neck on the way down ... that should have been a flagrant. It was a hugely dangerous play.
Miles really got lost on D a few times ... and I think that part of the problem was the team going small and him losing track of whom he was guarding.
It still ticks me off that I can't buy a good stout or porter at the Hive. If I liked IPAs I would have been set.

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Re: GT: Boston vs Charlotte
Vandy thanks for the observations as I didn’t watch and only caught the box score. Appears we’ve flattened out and are being easily game planned by good teams. Devonte is cornered and exposed, Rozier plays like crap against his old team every time, and we’re just not making adjustments that are effective. Small ball lineup isn’t working.
Tank while developing our youngins... the best plan. Unfortunately if the youth are stuck in a spin cycle, it’s hard to teach or coach them up with so little time in season.
Agree on the need to trade Marvin, and try to unload Hyphen if possible.

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: GT: Boston vs Charlotte
we go small because we generate zero offense while going big most of the time. Our wings aren't consistent enough to generate steady offense so we're hoping to let the 3 ball carry us past our other problems (pace, interior, etc)
The team is playing well above expectations. A good, balanced team like Boston has numerous ways to beat us. Not really gonna get too upset about that especially when Kemba knows everyone's weaknesses and strengths as well.
