Is that the same PJ with no upside?
Lol, yes, having no real upside doesn't mean the player CURRENTLY isn't good and having upside doesn't mean the player CURRENTLY is good or will be good.
PJ is a good talent CURRENTLY but I don't see him adding to whats there now which isn't an insult because he is currently good but is that good what we want to hold on too or is it something we want to flip while it's hot. I don't see him being a better defender, shooter, rebounder etc... I see either the same or a regress. I have spotted this before in Zeller and MKG. I did that WHILE they were GOOD players before a major dropoff.
McDaniels imo is currently a SO/SO PLAYER (less than that of PJ) but the potential is there if nothing more than his ability to play so many positions and potentially improve playing those positions. I highly doubt McDaniels will ever be Garnett. Hell lets face it he wont, thats darn near impossible for any player. I doubt he would even be Christian Wood but the potential is there and probably will be at a lesser resign price and we could switch him around and try him as a Center etc... He hasn't even got an opportunity to start and that alone could improve him. Some players player better starting. So that is potential there. Once again not saying PJ isn't currently better than McDaniels but is that current something not worth a flip is the question
