This free agent class is terrible and there are going to be a lot more teams with money than last free agency. Unless for some reason Gobert wants to sign here, then this looks like a bad free agency to be trying to make a big splashy move in. He also has a pretty bad history of free agent signings. Hes been good at drafting, though, so the teams focus should still be the draft and internal development imo (not necessarily tanking)

Its totally possible hes just making generic statements for the media and there is no point in speculating about any of this.

Money is going to be too tight (I hope) to make any real signings.

Yeah, I think his idea of being aggressive means making a prompt offer for a center not necessarily spending 25 million a year on one
Hopefully he sees how bad Drummond was and won't give him a big deal. If he wants to play here for under 10 a year maybe he is worth a try. Would rather have Holmes who is more mobile and less demanding.

Do people with fully healthy wrists constantly twist and stretch and heat and ice it? No way was it 100% healthy and his shooting was reflected by that. He was healthy enough to play without endangering the long term health, is I think what we want to hear and confirm.

I actually got the same injury LaMelo got about 3-4 years ago. it suuuuuucked.

one thing that I remember about it in particular is that unlike some other injuries I've had that hurt, then were awkward/uncomfortable for awhile, and then back to normal, this injury was super slow in the actual pain subsiding.

full disclosure: the injury was in the wrist/hand that I use my cane with when I walk. so I wasn't getting days off to rest it up and let the scar tissue heal. (my doctor said surgery wasn't necessary but I'm not a professional athlete with an unlimited orthopedic health dispensation)

but the pain was like 9 out of 10 when it happened and for the first 36 hours or so after I hurt it. and a month later, it was fine when I wasn't using it, but when I was using it, it was still like a 6 out of 10. a couple months later it was still like a 3 out of 10. a very long sunset on the pain. so it doesn't surprise me at all that he might have discomfort in shooting, trying to sling his insane forearm-driven court-length passes, that kind of thing.

these days, a few years on, it still gets sore here and there for a day or so. but again I didn't have surgery, so he should be absolutely fine by the start of next season, if my experience is anything to go by.
