There is no way Simmons lasts the offseason

Two teams that were out of the playoffs for at least 3+ years just made the conference finals - wild

You forget how Griffin almost single-handedly brought the LA Clippers from decades of disaster to respectability. He willed the team into winning over a seven-year period, 2010-17. It was very impressive to see.

People need to give him a break. Trae Youngs reputation as a rim protector and paint enforcer got the whole league scared to challenge him.

Still want Ben. He has been horribly coached and clearly wants a fresh start.

I’m not sure if this is going to sound like a rant or a tangent or what. I’m jealous of Atlanta because, well, I look at that as our rival city and I enjoy their struggles/failures. I’ve also got some crow to eat on Trae Young as I wasn’t buying the hype after his first few seasons. But he’s an absolute dog. I know he was trash shooting tonight, but he backs down from absolutely no one. Dude mixes it up every single possession, and I truly think he got in Ben’s head some.

He’s fully embraced Atlanta and being their franchise guy. I just hope LaMelo does the same here. How will he respond in a dogfight of a series like the one we just watched? It’s not unfair to say he has a legitimate chance to be the greatest athlete our city has ever had. I just hope he realizes this and wants it like Trae clearly does in Atlanta. This might sound unfair towards LaMelo idk, but damn it would be fun to watch these two go head to head in a playoff series.

We aren't far off from Atlanta, if LaMelo develops at the same rate and Mitch keeps hitting his draft picks.

LaMelo has a higher ceiling than Trae, he just has to work hard and get there.

This playoffs is also proving that shooting/playmaking/creativity > center play, yet again

Big Slam Disclaimer: Yes we need a center, just don't need to invest 30m/year or all our assets into one

Well Capela 18-20 million
Lopez 13mill
Ayton will be getting a big rise
LA are probably the biggest one for ignoring centre position

Exactly this ^

And guys like John Collins putting up lines like:

14 points (on 5 of 6 FGA’s)
16 rebounds
1 assist
1 steal
1 block

while playing aggressive, physical and impactful basketball doesn’t hurt either.

And if the Sixers didn’t have Embiid they would have lost by 20+.

Atlanta has Capela and Collins playing pretty great basketball

Milwaukee has Lopez playing some of the best ball of his career

Ayton is playing like an All Star (+)

The team who just lost (Sixers), lost because their guard/wing play was trash and were dragged through the playoffs by a Center with a torn meniscus lol

The only team who doesn't have a Center has multiple All-NBA talent wings.

We can build narratives both ways here

Hard no...especially with LaMelo on the team. He was the definition of shook in that playoff series. We need fearlessness.

Ben Simmons needs a sports psychologist. This playoffs could very well derail a once hall of fame career from a mental standpoint. Dude was shook badly.

I can't remember a year where I have enjoyed it to the playoffs as a whole more than this year. It's been so refreshing to see new teams, new young players getting their chance to play under this type of atmosphere. That on top of all of the absolutely insane fourth quarters we've witnessed over the past couple of weeks Top by possibly the craziest ending to a game I've seen in years last night. Really fun stuff.

In related news, which player has had a bigger Renaissance of their career, Cameron Payne or Reggie Jackson?
