Souring quickly on Borrego, don't think the players are listening. Player development has been great but motivation/x's and o's have been severely lacking

Can’t argue that borrego hasn’t done his job with development, it’s whether he can take the next step is the question

This team before Hayward got hurt last year was on pace for 45-50 wins.

Melo is improved, Miles is significantly improved, Cody Martin has developed a 3 ball and everything else is on the roster is pretty lateral from last year.

I'll cut him some slack that we've had a tough early schedule but If we don't get 45-50 wins Borrego's future should be discussed.

Batum? Seriously?

Wish that Plumlee did in fact sit this one out. Was his worst game for us IMO. Terrible turnovers trying to do too much, out of position allowing their two bigs to kill us. And that step back missile he threw at the rim in the 2nd was a eyesore.

We really need good Rozier back - badly. I hate to say it, but he is becoming a liability, although he did come alive in the 4th so hopefully that's a sign of things to come?

I don't like this super small ball line up that JB is running for extended stretches with Miles at the 5 - not when the team we are playing against play two 7 footers all game.

Good to see Oubre have a nice and effective game - feels like it's been a while. Especially liked him not just settling for 3's but instead driving and using jump stops and his length to get points in the paint.

So are we calling Twin #1's newly found 3 point shot success legit, or is it still too early?

Feels like we were up by 9 with 7mins to go, and then didn't score another point for the rest of the game.
(Edit: That's EXACTLY what happened. Eric just said we've allowed a 17-0 run).
(Edit #2: Now 22-0).

When we get desperate we really start so force things and players start to do things well out of their comfort zone and that's when things really fall apart.

With all the reviews this game mustn't have finished until about 3:00am this morning.

the NBA's three scoreless 1st round picks all check in. Who breaks the seal?
(Answer: None of them).

Yes as like the shot clock example I gave above he needs to improve his game management.

Or after the steal he got at half court in the 2nd, pulling up and taking a long 3 when there was only Rozier and 4 Clippers in the paint Vs waiting for the other Hornets to come back down and maybe finding an easy lane?

(Melo missed the 3 and of course the Clippers got the easy rebound).

This was the one that really got to me. For how lazy Plumlee has been on defense so far this season, I've noticed he spends a weird amount of time attempting and failing to guard the perimeter, and then is way too slow to return to the paint when he's needed.

Kinda feels like JB is using this season to allow lamelo to have total freedom, why we see this frantic pace. Let him figure out thru experience what works, what doesn't.

One thing that bothers me is our tendency to take 3s without the ball ever crosses inside the 3pt line. So many of our 3s are one pass on perimeter then let it fly. Not enough drive into paint and kick.

Defensively, I don't even know where to start. It's a complete mess all around. I do think it starts at the point of attack with Melo. He's gotta get better.

The rest, is it scheme or Personnel? Probably 50/50.

Honestly I would rather let teams drive into the rim than give up all the easy 3's we give up, its so bad
