What a win, there is something about being undermanned that really gets players lift their game

That was fun and the future is bright with Mitch controlling everything.

We should look to trade LaMelo while he still has some value around the league.

We can make a package centered around him and McDaniels for Daniel Theis.

I felt for the poor kid.

He played excellent D on two successive possessions guarding Galinari only to see Galinari hit back to back off balance, b.s type shots even with the stellar D by Thor.

Thor really played the possessions very well, but the end result was buckets.

I thought Thing #1 was sensational - although he did get a little ahead of himself there in the 3rd (I think it was the 3rd - maybe the 4th?) and started trying to force some things and do some things slightly above his threshold.

Gee it was noticeable that he had been out the last couple of games though.

Just realized Miles put up 32 points on only 15 FGA’s.

That’s Nucking Futs.

It was a fun game. I'm only a little stunned the Hawks lost. I knew the Hornets would respond as a team with so many guys suddenly out of the rotation thanks to covid crap.

Had the same thought, his D looked solid just some killer shots.

I love having length 1 through 4 with Melo healthy and PJ can do when at the 5, just have to find some way to deal with the Embiids of the world.

What an awesome and unexpected win!

Miles is a stud, and Gordo/Oubre/Ish/Martin stepped up like veterans should in that moment.

I was also impressed by Thor on defense his perimeter defense especially looked really intriguing. If he can ever learn how to shoot Mitch might have himself another 2nd round steal. He's going to be an absolute beast when he fills in, it's hard to tell he's 19 until you see that baby face.

Thor playing also further answered the question of what our big man depth chart actually looks like. My guess preseason was Plumdog>Vernon>Kai>Thor>Nicky but the reality seems to be Plumdog>Nicky>Thor and then who knows how JB feels between Kai and Vernon. (I suspect he'd probably rather play PJ/Miles at the 5 all game than those two at this point)

Bouknight still looks confused and tentative out there, hopefully he can shake that off and provide some offense over the next few shorthanded games.

some additional comments after watching on delay

Gordan seems to have lost some of the athleticism required to make some of the shots he's customarily made but he's still such a smart player and competitor

Oubre made some power drives I feel like we haven't seen from him too often, including a sweet flush against Huerter; and flashed a sweet three level offensive game

Collins totally geeked when Ish blocked Trae Young shot, leading to producer putting up chart of best 6'er block numbers in NBA history with Ish at #5

Collins when Ish made slick layup: "Ish must have majored in English at Wake Forest"

Capela wasn't involved - was this becuase ATL wasn't going to him or did the Hornets somehow neutralize him? and if so how did we do that, and how can we repeat it against other bigs?

was it PJ, because as others noted PJ seemed way more involved than usual, bottle that game from PJ, please

that stretch in early Q4 when the team went 1-11 capped off by Huerter 4pt play - ugh- really impressed that Hornets came back to life after that (sparked by Miles) to win

Miles skillset has caught up with his athleticism. I think I like "Bridges to Victory" even better than "Terry Time"

All the key guys stepped up. Can they do it again, all on same night? Cody just keeps amazing me. Happy to see Ish get his groove back. Hope Gordo rediscovery his mid range pull ups soon. Miles. Wow. And Oubre, I'm on board. Monk who?

Sad to see Bouk get the 5 trillion. Hopefully he shows better next time. Thor clearly ahead of Kai in coaches eyes.

Capela has had an Achilles's injury pre season that has lasted all season. When it bothers him he doesn't get much lift and is a little slow as we saw last night. He also doesn't try to dunk or contest shots which really hurts the Hawks defense. He missed several bunnies around the rim that he usually makes.

Kai has no NBA skills other than dunking at this point. I am not surprised he is at the end of the line.
