It's no accident that Melo gets those rebounds.
He has such an unbelievable feel for where the ball is going to be and when it's going to be there.

Stick Kai out there for a burst. If nothing else he can match Turner's reach.

16 from 28 at the line is feeling like it's really going to bite us on the arse.

Cody Martin is getting close to favourite player territory. The epitome of a good 3 & D player.

Had it been Thing #1 you know he would have come away with the ball - without doubt.
Probably Melo as well.
And who were the two Hornets diving onto the hardwood and fighting for the ball?

Early morning watch.
- Terry in scary mode is awfully scary. Crazy performance. All star stuff.
- Is the aggressive LaMelo we've been seeing the last couple of games the next phase in his evolution? If so, me likey. He still lapses into boneheaded sequences, but there's a perceptible leveling-up of his focus, determination and decision-making.
- When our bigs play like capable bigs (Richards over the last several, Plum the last two) it becomes crystal clear the team we could be with a real interior. Plum has been very aggressive - is it sustainable? Not likely based on his body of work thus far this season, but if he and Richards continue doing what they're doing, it makes us a pretty solid playoff performer. For clarity, a decent Plumlee and developing Richards isn't a 'real' interior, but it definitely delays the glaring need for a quality big.
- On that note, those that dislike the idea of Turner on the Hornets will point to his performance last night as evidence why. Those that like the idea of Turner on the Hornets will point to his performance last night as evidence why. I'm in the latter camp. Still seems like a doable deal we could make happen with redundant pieces and some protected sweetener. (FWIW - I'd be down with a Hayward for Sabonis swap as well, but think Turner is gettable with lesser pieces).
EDIT, and for another thread, but I'm also seeing the logic someone dropped on here about big-three economies. Meaning if we decide to max LaMelo (on board) and Bridges (on the fence), we'd be looking at that 'third star' dilemma - who secures the last big chunk of our budget puzzle and gets us in finals discussions? Is Turner or Sabonis that guy? Not sure. If we figured out our interior defense more cheaply elsewhere (next season), Sabonis seems more likely to make us better down the road, whereas I just see Turner as a better fit now - not necessarily the better player. Ramble, ramble...
