Not only that, but with that much time left in the game go for the 2pt play and then give yourself a chance to win with a defensive stop and score.

Just want to point out that this team has not improved much from last years team. I'm feeling a little shake up might be in order. if this team is still around .500 at the end of January and still starting games so bad I'm officially moving to the fire Borrego camp.

What are we like 0-15 on second night of back-to-backs?

The are clearly capable of playing defense in spurts so if the coach won't get them doing it consistently get someone in who will.

11.9 secs to go in the game and they FINALLY play good team defence on that Washington inbound attempt.

the fact that any player can waltz there way to the ring for a layup i don't think Mutumbo could fix our defense.

players need to want to stay in front of their opponents.

So, the record for not being above .500 on January 5th is still possible, right? Or do I have the date wrong?

Drummond, Tucker, and establishing Thor into the rotation could have solved a lot of our issues this season.

A little morning viewing;

Bad:

Open 3’s, awful transition D, trading baskets. There was one sequence where DC was on the break and our guys were clustered in the middle with both Kispert and Bertrans standing wide open at the 3.

We don’t have to switch absolutely everything – case in point. Rather than going under a very weak screen, Bridges automatically allows the easy switch of Kuzma onto Ish.

Kuzma spent a good deal of the night abusing Miles on D – esp. the 1st quarter.

Oubre played brain dead all game.

The team played brain dead in spurts, esp. that end of game foul on Beal.

Good:

Miles is perfecting that bully ball layup.

Terry remains one of the most clutch players in Hornets history. Didn’t pull this off but put in the effort.

Plumlee playing like a quality backup center. Just need a starter.

Gordo with the slow and steady hand. A solid Robin. Just need our Bat Man.

McD continues to quietly impress in a limited role. If he continues his evolution, we may reach the point where we can extend him on the cheap and look smart in the doing so.
