Eddie hurt, Reggie hurt, and Biyombo stuck in Europe. This is comical.

Re: Reggie Williams Signs With Bobcats
Wow, Simmons gives us a shout out . . .
"Charlotte snared one of my favorite under-the-radar guys for $5 million over two years: Reggie Williams, a gamer and long-range sniper (2010-11: 42.3 percent 3-point FG) who toiled in obscurity for a lousy Warriors team last season."

Hmm, that's not good. We might be able to crack 90 pts more often.

Re: Reggie Williams Signs With Bobcats
I don't know what the rust will do to him. A lot of shooters started off very slowly this season (Morrow, Wright...) so I would temper your expectations early. But after a dozen games or so I bet you see:
1) Scoring from everywhere (3's, midrange, finishing inside)
2) Nice court vision and willingness to set guys up
3) ability to be an emergency PG
4) horrible defense
And thanks for the heads up. I just picked him up in one of my (very deep) fantasy leagues.

Re: Reggie Williams Signs With Bobcats
horrible defense you say? great. he will fit in with the rest of team ole. his defense will feel right at home with augustin, carroll and the oklahoma turnstiles (mullens and white).

I feel your pain, but in a way it's a good thing. He will help guys grow on the offensive end. (Not a ton, he's no Jason Kidd, but still..) And he will do it without getting in the way of your draft pick.

excited to see what reggie can do for us. he is exactly the player we need right now. small foward/shooting guard, shooter, capable passer and ball handler.

Me too. I have been watching him intently the last several home games. He works out before warm ups. At the last game vs. The Wiz, he looked ready. He did get winded fast, but was really running full speed.

Guess I was wrong!!!
2 years at $2.5mil per year is a great signing IMO.
indeed...good scorer. excellent bargain.

Re: Reggie Williams Signs With Bobcats
Excited to see Reggie play. Hoping he adds some much needed 3 pt shooting.
There's something else too. I'm more interested in Rebuilding than Tanking, per se. Yes, I want a high draft choice. But more than that, I want to feel like this team knows how to rebuild. The best teams, especially the best small market teams, have management that consistently finds the right players and stockpiles talent. San Antonio, Oklahoma. Denver, Indy, this yr. Is Rich Cho that man?
When I looked at available Free Agents last summer, I thought, Reggie Williams would be a great fit for this team. Compliment Hendo's missing skill (3s). Then lo and behold they signed him - and to a reasonable contract. It was like a miracle, something the FOM regime never would have done, and provided me with new hope. Maybe they get it, maybe they actually get it.
Obviously, alone, Reggie is no savior, but to me he's a clue to the new direction of this team. He, along with Bismack and Hendo and, now, Byron, gives me hope that we are heading in the right direction. So, it's asking a lot, but here's hoping Reggie rewards our faith.
