I've decided that from now on, I will consider a high motor to be a mark against a player. Lazy players only! They get injured less often.

the more i hear about how hard he works and how badly he wants to be the best player possible...the more i'm interested in taking him. the kid puts it all out there...and he's only freakin' 18. where's this hypothetical ceiling to his potential? he will stop improving when he stops trying...and i don't see that happening

That's why we should get Renaldo Balkman right now. Same guy since clearly motor = success in this league, but we don't have to waste a pick on someone.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's measurements (6'5.75 without shoes, 7'0 wingspan, 233 pounds) are actually quite close to those of a young Camelo Anthony (6'6.25 without shoes, 7'0 wingspan, 233 pounds). Kidd-Gilchrist, like Robinson and Davis, doesn't measure historically tall or long terms of sheer size and length, but obviously makes the most of his physical profile and has well above average tools for a wing at the NBA level.

I'd still play him at the two, but he's more than adequate for a SF on the next level

i've seen enough of balkman to know he's just not that talented in the first place. I can't say the same for MKG

We should trade the #2 overall for Helen Keller. She worked really hard, I'm sure that'll be a difference maker.

should we be at all concerned about MKG serious anxiety about public speaking due to his childhood speach problems? i applaud him for getting this far and i am really not trying to be an insensitive jerk. i also realize that it has zero bearing on his basketball skills. but as a #2 pick, MKG will be under a lot of pressure to be the new face of the franchise. with that comes responsibility of meeting the fans, talking to the press, maybe some commercials. how marketable is he? there is more to being a successful pro than what happens on the court. i am sure cho and higgins will discretely discuss this internally. lets hope its a non-issue. i guess it never stopped moses malone from being a star and he could barely form sentences. then again, moses wasnt under a 24/7 media blitz like players today.

18 year old kid, with speaking anxiety, pressure of #2 pick for the worst team in NBA history and playing for the GOAT. kinda sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell

Michael Kidd-Gichristist is painfully anxious speaking in public. You'll see what I mean when he visits #Bobcats. I feel for him.

@rick_bonnell I feel for him. In 30-some years doing this, I've never seen someone so struggle through a conversation with strangers.

If you hear his interview from when he was a high school graduate before Kentucky to now, he has improved. He still say those filler words but he seems a bit more comfortable around more reporters.

I'm talking out of butt here but if his public speaking is that bad, there maybe a chance that Maggette will get the lion's share of minutes and he'll be brought along slowly. I think there's a good chance of that anyway.

Clearly the man's a headcase.

We should trade him for Helen Keller.

Helen Keller could speak, with her mute mouth, more languages than most people can read with their working eyes or hear with their working ears. I can't believe you'd suggest she wasn't a hard worker.

She might not be the most talented, but she's got a jet engine for a motor. Surely that counts for something?

I'd trade the #2 overall for a better troll.

Not at all. We'd be drafting him for his ability on the court. Kemba, Hendo and Biz have enough charisma between them to handle the press.

I don't care if who we draft seems to be as dumb as a rock in front of a camera (even if he isn't actually), just so long as he is a stud on the court.
