If he is a liability then sit him, but we literally have nothing else. Especially with Taylor probably out for a good time, if not the remainder of the season.

Even if its a limited MKG, he will go out there to just play defense, rebound, and score 5 points a night. It is better than what Tolliver and CDR would bring to the table. That or we need to think about dealing for a quality wing player, even if it is just somebody we could get for a second round pick.

I really do not want to make a deal if it means trading MKG. We need to bolster the SF position either way, because Taylor looks like he is gonna miss major time.

Tolliver has actually played decent D lately and hit some HUGE threes on our little 3 game winning streak

MKG should return around New Year's when we go on that long road trip.

Doesn't he get his cast off on the 29th or something? No way he'll be ready less than a week after getting a cast off that he's had on for weeks.

He take the cast off on the 27th to have it re-evaluated. He'll likely be fine that day but we play OKC that day at home before heading on the road for 5 straight away games. I seriously doubt that he doesn't travel with the team. I expect him to return during that road trip.

You're usually pretty weak once you've had a cast on for that long. He won't be ready for at least another week.

MKG is currently wearing a cast until at least Dec. 27, at which point he'll be re-evaluated. He injured his hand on Dec. 3, and his scheduled return was 4-6 weeks. Considering that the Bobcats will be on a 5-game road trip from Dec. 28 - Jan. 4, I wouldn't expect him to return until the Jan. 7 home game against the Wizards

It honestly doesn't feel like he's been out three weeks already. I guess our recent play has been good enough to take some attention away, although time is about to drag with CDR/Tolliver combo at SF
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

Ariel (Texas)

Will MKG ever play up to his draft slot?

Amin Elhassan | ESPN Insider (3:49 PM)

I think so but he has to be on a good team that can live with his lack of shotmaking

Good thing we're finally trying to turn into a good team to maximize our players potential. Especially MKG. How many players have became better from intentionally losing? We would be the Sacramento Kings of the East or the Wizards of yesteryears searching for that one superstar if Cho were on board with all of the pro tankers.

My guess (from personal experience) would be 2-3 weeks till MKG. Being in a cast that long makes you too weak. He's going to be rehabbing for a while before he's ready to play.

He still needs time for rehab. Since the injury deals with his left hand, should be about 2 weeks before he's back.

Mike (Charlotte NC)

Follow up to your answer of Harrison Barnes. I rumblings around Charlotte is that they should've drafted Barnes instead of MKG. When you look at last years regular season stats MKG has the edge. Barnes had a great playoff. I have said that MKG is the better player and would've been much better on the Golden State team with those shooters to spread the floor. Which do you think is better?

Kevin Pelton (3:21 PM)

The counterpoint is a lot of the Warriors' success offensively is based on having five guys on the floor opponents must respect. So MKG's poor outside shooting would derail that. But the biggest positive for him going forward is he's 16 months younger.
