Had no idea Neal shot that well from the line for us, that is impressive.

Seems like he totally mailed it in with the Bucks. Maybe not the greatest professionalism in the world, but here's hoping we haven't seen the best version of Gary Neal yet. That article made it sound like he might step in at backup PG.

first off, the stats used in that article could have just as easily been used to state that luke ridnour was the reason for our improved offense. but whatever...

i do think we will see a much better version of neal this year. neal would have no problems playing pg when paired next to lance in the backcourt. its very possible we see that combo together while kemba takes a rest.

I hope learning his teammates and the system will help him play better and help with the bench scoring this season.

I agree. Those stats mean jack squat, and I honestly don't think Neal was a big reason why we finished the season 16-7 to be honest. Zeller got his head out of his ass and played a lot better as did our bench in general.

There is only one explanation for team MGMT keeping Gary Neal, who shot 22% from 3 in the playoffs while doing his best Ben Gordon impression: Guaranteed Money. That tune you hear Clifford singing is: If you can't be with the one you love, honey love the one you're with.

This might be sacrilegious for me to say but - Clifford has done nothing but rave about Neal's work ethic and how he came to camp early to practice with the team (walk year or not) - Neal could give the team more than Nik Stauskas would have this season. Since Lance can guard Lebron he can handle most SF's. There will be several lineups where we can spread the floor against our opponent with Neal and Lance playing the wings.

Not too far fetched. Lance is the only wing guaranteed a spot. It gives Clifford some flexibility. If he wants to spread the floor, Neal plays, if he wants to shut down a tough offense, MKG plays. Lance and Kemba are going to get their minutes. PJ Hairston, Vonleh and Zeller to an extent are somewhat stuck behind these more projectable players because we're a contender this season. I think Clifford will side with proven players over accelerated development of younger players. Neal could very easily play big minutes in a leadership role. He's the best shooter on a team really thin in that department.

Gary Neal is not going to start. hes perfect as a fine 6th man off the bench.

I'm just stoked to see all these 3 point shooters running around everywhere. All of the sudden we have Lance, Hairston and Neal all bombing away from deep, and even MKG seems to have an improved jumper as a bonus. Clifford is finally going to get the spacing he always emphasizes, and Big Al should be be able to make people pay when they double down on him.

I thought Gary Neal was a problem last night. Out of control. Wasn't just that he missed shots (1-11), he forced a lot of ugly ones. Also proved he can't guard a bigger SG. Thought Roberts showed last night he can be a steadying influence and deserves to be PG2. Thought Neal showed he's volatile, and ought to be reserved to a 3 pt microwave off the bench.

I agree, but he's a Clifford guy and Clifford said he liked Neal's effort last night

bonnell also praised neals ability to make quick penetrating dribbles into the lane that allowed him to rack up 6 assists.

Hey Snidley I'm gonna float this question your way.

Is it too late to dump Gary Neal for Ramon Sessions?

What was the better trade,

Warrick for McRoberts or Sessions for Neal?

Look what Charlotte did for McRoberts in free agency.

Neal is going to get his biggest paycheck ever.

I think our best lineup is
Kemba
Neal
Lance
Zeller
Jefferson
But idk if Marv or mkg will fit with the bench

Lol MKG isn't coming off no bench.

Neal is fine off the bench, just like Zeller is fine off the bench.

We used to all be hoping that Neal would play well enough for us to trade him. But the way he's balling now, I don't *want* to trade him.
