Danny Green sucked coming out of college. He would probably even suck now if he didn't play on the Spurs. Stauskas better end up 40 times the player Green is or Ill be pissed.

I think he will be much better but Green didn't suck. He was a very good defender and shot over 40% from 3 his final year at UNC.

He didn't suck in college, but his NBA prospects coming out weren't that good, at all.

They were not good but to say he sucked was a little much. He was a 3 and D guy coming out and had little room to grow. That hurt him as much as anything.

Giving way too much for Randle. I'm not trading 2 1st rd picks to move up unless I'm getting Embiid, Wiggins, Randle, or Exum.

I’ve already posted what I want to happen (drafting Nik Stauskas, etc.) … but I wanted to slightly hijack this thread and post what I think is more likely to happen:

Draft:
9 – Dario Saric or Julius Randle (one of these guys will still be on the board)
24 – Shabazz Napier
45 – EU prospect or possibly included in the Hendo trade below

Trade – Gerald Henderson to the Bucks for Ersan Ilyasova. Either trade will bring more balance to both rosters. Ersan makes more money and is signed for longer, but it’s still possible to trade for Hendo straight up. Trading him would save the Bucks quite a bit over the long run and open up PT for whomever they draft, while the Hornets would be able to keep their young bigs as reserves. Possible that the Hornets also include #45 or a future pick with this trade. An alternative would be Hendo fro Zaza straight up. If the Hornets do the Zaza version of the trade they can probably re-sign McBob too … if they trade for Ilyasova McBob is gone.

Free Agent – Sign either Lance Stephenson or Gordon Hayward. Lance is the better two way player but has his well documented potential issues. Gordon brings better spacing but much worse D. While Hayward is a RFA, my sense is that it’s possible to pry him away from the Jazz with a big offer … heck either of these guys would take a big offer and make MJ’s commitment to a big signing real.

Resign CDR. A third PG and possibly another cheap wing would round out the roster.

PG – Kemba, Sabazz, ???
SG – Lance/Hayward, Neal
SF – MKG, CDR
PF – Ilyasova, Dario/Randle, Zeller
C – Al, Biyombo, Dust Chip

I honestly think that Dario is the Hornet’s draft target of choice. He’s one of the most ready to play guys for a playoff team among guys projected 4-10 in this draft … and he’s an amazing fit for Cliff’s systems. I just don’t see any way they don’t draft him if he’s still there. The thing is that if Dario does go in the first 8 picks that almost certainly means Randle fell and is available.

So why trade for Ilyasova if you are drafting Dario and already have Zeller? Again he fits Cliff’s system but he also is a credible starter for a playoff team and allows Dario to be brought along a bit more slowly if needed. There is also a real chance that Dario will end up starting as SF by the end of the year if drafted (as much as I love MKG, unless he really makes a step forward on O Cliff is going to end up benching him at some point). Also Zeller seems to play a lot better in the low post rather than the high. He’s going to be able to get some minutes as Al’s backup if he muscles up some.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Kemba -- Sessions
Klay T. -- CDR -- Neal
Harrison B. -- MKG -- Taylor
McRoberts -- CJ Fair -- Zeller
Jefferson -- Bismack

Trade 9th and 45th plus Hendo for Klay and Harrison. Use 24th to pick up Fair. Or 45th to pick up Fair if they want 24th instead. Then sign Sessions

I highly doubt they would, unless their NEW COACH has something different up his sleave. I saw somewhere that we should go after Klay with our pick and ran with it from there. I would LOVE that lineup. Here is a more realistic lineup for us that doesnt involve drafting.

Kemba -- Sessions
Affolo -- CDR -- Neal
Jeff G. -- MKG -- Taylor
McRoberts -- CJ Fair -- Zeller
Jefferson -- Bismack

Trade 9 for Affalo, and trade 24 and Hendo for Green. Draft CJ with 45.

I would rather us trade the picks but if we keep them, I want either aaron gordon with the 9th or nik s if gordon isnt there. ( Pj Hairston is my 3rd choice at 9 ). and with 24, I have CJ Fair, Hood if he were to fall there, GR3, or TJ warren.

still trying to decide if we should take a PG with 24 as well if napier or Tyler Ennis is there.

I remember watching Danny Green in Boone after his UNC stint, playing with current state of North Carolina "college stars".

He didn't even look impressive in that game. Now hes on sportscenter with a championship hat on

19.5 million cap space + when I dump Gary Neal I go to 22 million. I can do this because I have Hairston in place of Neal and can't move Henderson. For my entertainment dollar, give me shooters and ball handlers. Give me Lance and Hayward.

PG-Kemba Walker/Mo Williams
SG-Lance Stephenson/PJ Hairston
SF-Gordon Hayward/Gerald Henderson/Jeffrey Taylor
PF-Cody Zeller/Noah Vonleh
C-Al Jefferson/Bismack Biyombo

I was for him with a sniper alongside him. Without Stauskas, we need Hayward more now or Parsons.

MKG will start at PF if he has to - he is not coming out of the starting lineup.

I refuse to make a roster make-up just yet, because I believe there will be a lot more roster movement amid free-agency. I have no choice but to believe that Henderson and/or Zeller may be moved in a deal this summer, but at the same time I could see them both return and Charlotte just being overloaded with depth where everybody has to fight for minutes, and I see that as a good thing. That's how the Spurs are orchestrated
