you had full faith in our drafting before the trade?

No but we were not short a unatheletic shooter wing. I was scared to death we would pass a good to great prospect to draft Kennard or Mitchell but now I feel almost certain we will pass a superior player for one of them.

Read on Twitter

There was a 3-way deal being talked about, I would almost guarantee it.

Ummmmm, I can't believe this trade ended up not being terrible. This seems like a potentially great move. I can't believe we actually got rid of two scrubs and moved up in the draft. You could have talked me into doing that trade with salary filler just for the picks. I'm honestly not really into Howard too much at this point.

At worst, this just puts us in do or die mode. If Howard doesn't work out, we rid of him in 2 years and will be able to rebuild around Kemba with his next contract. 3 years of Plumlee was just too much and this is going to keep us competitive for the foreseeable future. #11 this year, if Howard bombs, we'll have another high pick next year. Or, we get playoffs and cause some havoc with finally having a big center that is able to protect the rim. Zeller is still going to be able to thrive, but we finally have someone to disrupt pf/c from just overpowering us in the paint.

Wouldn't be shocked at all if we traded cody and/or mkg for shooters and try to recreate the Orlando Dwight team.

Pure curiosity has me wondering what Cody could get. If we could get someone then take Collins as our backup C to Howard that could work ok. I value Cody enough that I don't think finding a good value match would be easy.

Happy for the Hornet but this trade is bizarre. Is something happening with Dwight behind the scenes? This one isn't adding up...

Now what do we do if Markkanen drops? Surely we wouldn't take Mitchell or Kennard over him, right? As of now all I want is for Monk or Ntilikina to fall and to find a backup PG. Patrick Beverly would be a great fit next to Kennard and Monk.

Kemba/Beverly/Weber
Batum/Monk/Graham
MKG/Lamb
Marv/Frank/JOB
Dwight/Cody

I'd be pretty damn happy rolling into next season with that. My only issue is that I feel quite strongly that Cody should be the starter, but I feel like we will almost have to start Dwight to keep him happy. Hopefully he makes it worth it.

I would definitely not be looking to trade MKG or Cody. We have the ability to be a top 3-7 defense with the players we have and we should have plenty of spacing with our draft pick and whoever we get with the MLE.

Wonder what things be like right now if Dwight stayed his whole career in Orlando, Dwight was having a good career with us.

I'd expect another significant move with Cody, MKG, and both picks in play.

I'd be willing to bet that Dwight really regrets leaving.

Dwight was going to suffer debilitating injuries and lose his athleticism either way. Sure he'd be more liked around the league but he'd still be a marginal NBA center these days.

I don't see the team trading Zeller with his injury concerns and Howards as well. Having both of them increases the chances a great deal that we'll always have a healthy center. We all saw how bad the team was without Zeller last season.

I really hope we don't move Cody. He should still be our long term plan at center imo. I don't trust Dwight and I don't think hes good enough to make us want to part from Cody. I'd be more open to moving MKG, though. With Dwight I no longer feel like losing MKG would be a death knell for our defense.

Denver, Phoenix, and Minnesota add ideal partners. Ideally and wing shooter and a PnR point glad.

Or just go nuts with a blockbuster.

MKG + 11 + 31 for Rubio + 7
