I just thought of a great idea. We should talk about everything else other than the draft. Then when other teams come to our board talking about our #3 pick we can seem like the cool guys and talk about things like recipes etc... and say Oh yeah, we did take that Ball guy. We were Wisemen to do so.

The song and dance the Celtics do every year about trading for this or that player or pick annoys me greatly, I imagine I'm not alone.

Apparently Ainge offered 14 and (26 or 30) to the Cavs for 5. Lol that is such a bad offer.

I don't know if all of you play in a fantasy basketball league or football league, but Ainge is the guy who just sends horrible trades over and over again just hoping somebody will accept one. And if you call them out on it their like "well make a counter". So you want me to do all the work and actually make a real offer? nah I am good.

Sorry Rant is over.

Hamilton was pretty good. Probably better than Anthony Edwards.

Thought this was interesting JG, but didn't want to bog down the other thread - so i copied it here:

James Gatz wrote:Tier 1

Tier 3
Vassell
Okoro

Tier 4
Poku
Wiseman
Maxey
Williams

So you are saying you'd rather draft anyone of those 7 players before drafting Wiseman? And 9 players if you actually have Maxey and Williams above him in your tier #4?

You are THAT down on Wiseman?

No need to apologize, I totally feel you. I expect that's the same sort of offer we got for the Frank pick. For some reason the media always assumes we turned down the Nets/Kings pick(s) but more likely it was a four picks in the 20s, that's just his style.

For fantasy trades I call those offers The Moron Test. They're just trying to see if I'm a fool, they aren't being serious.

Not to speak for JG, but that's roughly about how I feel about Wiseman. I'm more down on Hayes than that and I'm not sure about Okoro, but I expect Wiseman's NBA impact to be pretty limited.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu

Hey guys I apologize. I have some bad news. As you know I am your bootleg GM. Unfortunately someone recorded me showing up to the draft this morning, and because of what I was driving and the way they saw me tending to my hair they assumed I was a BALLER and that I was going to choose BALL. So the hat is out of the bag. Here is the footage they caught of me going to work

More likely - we draft Ball or we trade for Westbrook?

Neither. We are getting Edwards. He has the shortest thread here therefore will be the pick.

Also he's the only one Rickey B hasn't linked us to.

I'm such a filthy casual now that I'm lucky I even happened to remember that the draft was tonight. I feel like we are almost in a pretty good spot no matter what happens? I haven't been down in the details of how the draft has played out over the past few months, so I'm still operating on the assumption that there is basically a "big three," which means we should get at least one of those guys. I think I'd prefer that Wiseman guy because he seems like a great fit. My next choice would be Edwards, not because I particularly like him or know much about him, but it seems like he was projected to go #1 for awhile there, so if we got him, it's like we got #1 talent. I don't like the Ball people at all, but a lot of others believe the hype with this guy, so if we end up with him, I'll be optimistic and hope they are right.

The only thing that makes me nervous is that we might trade someone that I like or trade down and select some player that I haven't heard much about. I think that is the only thing that would make tonight a disappointment for me, but again, I don't know nearly as much as I used to about the NBA or even our team (sadly), so I would defer to everyone else as to whether such deals would be good or not.

It seems like we go into tonight with a lot of hope as a franchise, and that isn't something we've had a lot of through the years, so cheers to that!
